Why the World Should Unite to Defend Hinduism and Hindus!
Extracts from book written by Savitri Devi in 1939:
Discussions about “religion” often fall into confusion because “religion” is a matter that can be considered from entirely different points of view. Two people speaking about “religion” may be, in fact, though unknowingly, speaking about two things quite apart from each other.
So, what is “religion”? This is the first question to be answered.
One often considers, in “religion,” merely certain moral teachings. Nearly every main religious book contains some sort of teaching concerning the moral conduct of man, such as: “Thou shalt not steal,” “Thou shalt not kill a man,” or: “Thou shalt not kill any living creature,” “Thou shalt not get drunk,” etc.
There are, no doubt, differences in the moral scale of values in different religions. For instance, to kill an animal is a sin, from the Jain point of view; from the Christian point of view, it is not. But any moral teaching presupposes some sort of society. Therefore, there is a minimum of prohibitions which we find in the moral code of every possible religion.
Always and everywhere, such actions are “sinful” that are definitely anti-social, in the place and at the time where they are forbidden. And such actions which cannot but be anti-social (such as, for instance, murder of man for personal motives) cannot be commended, or even tolerated, according to any possible code of morals. They constitute the stable minimum of prohibitions, which is common to all religions considered from the point of view of “morality.”
Religions seem to differ more profoundly, when considered as metaphysical systems. Here, the very fundamentals are different, and there is
not even a minimum of admitted notions, which can be taken as the common philosophical basis of all possible religions.
The conception of Godhead, as well as that of creation, of soul, etc., is different, from one religious system to another. A religion can also well exist without the idea of God appearing at all, in the metaphysical outlook of its followers. Such is the case of Buddhism, of Jainism, and perhaps of other systems, less well-known.
The idea of salvation is also not an essential one; Shintoism has developed apart from it; and so had the national religions of Greece and Rome, long ago. Moreover, to a Christian and to a Hindu, for instance, who both put stress upon that idea, “salvation” means such an entirely different thing, that it is impossible, philosophically speaking, to call it a “common” notion of Hinduism and Christianity.
And if, neglecting to speak of different religions from a moral or intellectual point of view, one considers them merely in a spiritual light, as various paths to self-realization, then, naturally, unity will appear.
But it will not be unity among different religions; it will be the identity of the ultimate result of all religious disciplines, as regards man. The place to which the various paths lead is the same, and, to the seekers of wisdom, that may be the only thing worth considering.
But the paths remain different. In this world, religions do not meet, even as paths leading to a truer world.
But, if no unity among religions can be found on the basis either of common metaphysical notions, either of common spiritual discipline, at least, a broad two-fold classification can be made, on a psychological ground.
There are religions, such as Christianity and Islam, based upon teachings which are considered by their followers as the only absolute truth.
These teachings are, therefore, supposed to be essentially good for all mankind, and it is the duty of every believer to preach them, by word and by deed, so that every man may accept them and be saved.
Such religions style themselves as world-religions. The ideal of their followers is the unification of all mankind, on the basis both of certain moral and spiritual teachings, and of certain metaphysical beliefs, looked upon as absolute truth, expressed once for all at a certain time, in a certain place, by a certain person, and recorded in a certain sacred book to which, naturally, no alteration and no addition can be made. Uses and customs can easily differ, from place to place, according to geographical, political, and other conditions, provided their existence is not a denial of any of the fundamental beliefs upon which the whole religious structure lies. Culture itself can differ, from nation to nation, as long as these common beliefs remain.
What greater difference can there be, for instance, than that between the culture of a Presbyterian Scotchman and of a Catholic Spaniard, or of a Syrian Christian, or of an Abyssinian?
Yet, there is, between them, a minimum of common beliefs, sufficient to justify their common claim to be called “Christians.” The same thing could be said about a Mohammadan from Arabia or Iraq, compared to a Mohammadan from Java.
We call “creedal religions” all religions of the type of Christianity or Islam, in which the link among the faithful is necessarily common beliefs, but not necessarily common civilization or culture.
But there are religions which do not rest upon any moral or metaphysical “truth,” considered as absolute. Their followers may or may not accept a certain number of common beliefs, and, if they do, still they do not condemn the many possible beliefs, in religions different from theirs, as “false,” nor do they look down upon them as “precious teachings entangled with superstition.”
In fact, the followers of each one of such religions generally do differ from one another on the ground of metaphysics, of morals, or of religious discipline.
Take the instance of the cultured ancient Greeks, followers of the same national religion but, at the same time, followers of different (and antagonistic) philosophies. There was, in that national religion of theirs, no common metaphysical system, comparable with that which we find in hellenised Christianity. Take the instance of the cultured modern Hindus, of different sects. There is very little common in their religious outlook, or in the particular discipline they may follow. One worships a personal God; one worships God as impersonal; a third one does not believe in God at all; one practices hatha yoga, another practices nothing but bhakti. Still, they are all Hindus, just as the ancient Greeks, inspite of their opposite metaphysical views, or of their personal devotion to entirely different Gods, were the followers of the same “religion.”
It is easy to see that the word “religion,” in this case, bears a totally different meaning from that which it had, while applied to “creedal religions” such as Christianity or Islam.
Here, there is no truth, whether concerning God, soul, salvation, creation, or anything else, which should be considered as absolute by all men. Every truth is relative, being the outcome of man’s experience, which is necessarily limited. And therefore, metaphysics (the common ground of religious thought, in “creedal” religions) are a matter of individual outlook. Spiritual realization is also individual. The knowledge that it gives cannot be transmitted to a crowd. Even the path to realization cannot be shown but to those who have undergone, through previous experience, a sufficient evolution.
In other words, in religions which are not creedal, there can be no conflict between “religion” and “philosophy,” no more than between “religion” and “science,” for a broad spirit of free research — that what is called, in modern language, scientific spirit — is applied there, without restriction, to every sphere of life, including spiritual realization.
And there can be no common beliefs commended to men at different stages of evolution. There can be no one-sided outlook on God, soul, etc., “good for all mankind,” to be preached from country to country.
Hinduism is the most perfect type of such “religions” which we shall call, presently, for sake of convenience, “non-creedal,” until further analysis allows us to characterize them more positively.
We have said that, when one speaks of “religion,” one often speaks, in reality, of morals or metaphysics. One still more often speaks of a certain culture and civilization, characterizing a certain society.
Even the idea of a “creedal” religion is not entirely free from this historical notion of civilization and society. The creed is one thing, and society is another, that is true.
But a creed without any society organised upon it, stands nowhere as a religion, while a society, without any creedal unity, but of which the members share a common civilization and a common culture, has a sound existence of its own, as a society.
The great difference between creedal and non-creedal religions lies in the fact that, while the principle of unity and the sense of brotherhood are to be found, among the followers of a creedal religion, in commonness of belief, (and not necessarily of culture and civilization) that principle of unity and that sense of brotherhood are to be found, among the followers of a non-creedal religion, in commonness of culture and of civilization, (and not necessarily of belief).
Two Indians, of whom one believes in God and one does not, are two Hindus, provided they both share that culture and civilization which is the only thing all Hindus are supposed to have in common, which is, really, “Hinduism.”
While an American or a Frenchman who has accepted one of the doctrines of manifold “Hindu philosophy,” Vedantism or any other, or any special type of Hindu devotion is no Hindu as long as he has not adopted such a style, not only of thinking, but also of living, by which he enables himself to become one of the units of Hindu society; moreover, socially speaking, he is no Hindu as long as a sufficient portion, at least, of Hindu society, has not accepted him as one of its members.
It is in one’s own hand to become a Christian. It is not in one’s own hand alone to become a full-fledged Hindu, (or a follower of any other non-creedal religion).
Civilisation and culture are not free from geographical, as well as historical conditions.
A follower of a non-creedal religion has necessarily, along with the greatest spirit of relativity, (and therefore of toleration) in every matter where his religious “philosophy” is concerned, a geographical sense of religion, in every matter where “religion,” to him, means society.
One can dream of unifying mankind through certain beliefs, (though this also, is an illusion) but one cannot even imagine the same civilisation, the same style of life, the same type of society all over the world. Therefore, in a non-creedal religion, no missionary activities can be conceived beyond certain geographical boundaries.
One may wonder, after this, if there is anything or not which is neither morality, nor metaphysics, nor society, but “real” religion. And if there be such a thing, what is it? Can it not be defined anyhow, except negatively?
The only thing which can, it seems, apart from all the rest, be called “real” religion, is spiritual experience.
It is clear that, however different religions may be, religion is one, if considered in that light alone.
And it is in considering spiritual experience, which ends in the realisation of truth, that teachers like Sri Ramakrishna were able to say that, “just as all rivers run to the sea,” so do all religions have but one goal, one end: self-realization.
Spiritual experience certainly gives knowledge concerning certain metaphysical entities and certain metaphysical problems. But it is to be
carefully distinguished from metaphysics, for it is not something which can be discussed, and reasoned upon through the power of intellect alone, as generally metaphysics are.
It has to be gone through. (In fact, the existence of metaphysics apart from spiritual experience, is a sign of the weakness of man, who feels as if he must have ideas about what he does not know and cannot understand. And all really great metaphysical systems, which have marked their influence upon the evolution of human thought, rest upon the background of some spiritual experience.)
Creedal religions, such as Christianity, are right when they say that their dogmas cannot be understood through intellect. From the point of view of real religion, (spiritual experience) these religions are only incomplete when they ask one to believe in their dogmas, without giving him the means to realise the truth contained in them, and also, when they assert that there is no salvation for whoever does not accept those dogmas.
But spiritual experience is personal. It cannot be transmitted.
Even the desire of acquiring it cannot be created in everybody. And, merely intellectual acceptance of the truth contained in the words of a certain realised man, or blind faith in the writings of an “inspired” book, cannot stand for spiritual experience — for self-realisation.
That is why one can find, among the followers of creedal religions, a certain morality, a great amount of theology, but such a little real religion, (personal realisation of truth) compared to what could be expected.
What can be done is not to teach spirituality, but, through the habits of life, through customs and ceremonies, through art and culture, and daily dealings, to create an “atmosphere” in which spiritual experience appears to be the ultimate experience of man.
No common creed is necessary for that.
Only certain permanent influences, in certain special social surroundings, are.
And that is what the Hindus have understood, from time immemorial up to the present day. The great religious value of Hinduism — manifold on the ground of morals, as well as of beliefs, but unified by culture, by artistic expression, by the “style of life” it evolves — lies in that fact.
But this is not the only reason, this is not even the main reason for which we want to preserve and strengthen Hindu civilisation, and organise Hindu society throughout India (and the world at large: added by the editor).
Apart from the high philosophies contained in the Hindu Scriptures and from the high spiritual ideal realized by the Hindu seers, we want to defend Hindu civilization and society, against the increasing forces of rival proselytizing societies strongly united by the consciousness of a common creed.
Even if India itself were to disappear just now, the philosophical and spiritual inheritance of the Hindus would remain.
Mankind would preserve it, because it is worth preserving. It is immortal, and needs no one to defend it.
What we want to defend, we repeat, is Hindu society, the Hindu people, the bearers of Hindu civilization, whose number is decreasing every day.
They are the body of Hinduism, of which the high philosophies and spiritual realisations are the everlasting soul.
Our point is that Hindu society must not perish; nor must it stagnate in its present state of weakness. We want it to live because we know it can be mighty and beautiful, and also, because it is Indian, nay, because it is India herself.
We have no other reason to defend it.
Myth of Aryan Invasion of India!
By: A. L. Chavda
Introduction:
The Aryan Invasion Theory (AIT) needs no introduction. It is the bedrock upon which Indian history has been written. Its central thesis has three main components:
India’s original inhabitants were “dark-skinned” Dravidians, who built a peaceful, highly developed, near-utopian urban civilization in western India and present-day Pakistan: the so-called Harappan or Indus valley civilization.
India was invaded and conquered from the West by a nomadic people called the Indo-Aryans around 1500 BCE. These Indo-Aryans were of European origin (hence white-skinned), and spoke Vedic Sanskrit. They destroyed the indigenous Dravidian civilization, subjugated the natives, and forced them to migrate to India’s South.
The Indo-Aryans then composed the Vedas, and imposed Hinduism and the caste system upon the hapless Dravidians and other indigenous peoples of India.
First propounded by Max Müller, the AIT has been regarded as self-evident since the 19th century. In the late 20th century, it was refined into what is now known as the Indo-Aryan Migration theory (IAMT). According to this model, the Indo-Aryans migrated into India rather than invaded it, which nevertheless had the same effect on the indigenous peoples: their subjugation and the imposition of Indo-Aryan religion (Hinduism) and culture.
The opposing view: Indigenous Aryans
The opposing view, known variously as the Indigenous Aryans theory (IAT) and the Out of India theory (OIT), rejects the AIT/IAMT (henceforth AIT). It posits that the Indo-Aryan people and their languages originated in the Indian subcontinent and that the Indus valley civilization (Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization) was the Vedic civilization, not a Dravidian civilization as claimed in the AIT.
Proponents of this theory cite archaeological evidence of civilizational and cultural continuity, and Indian literary sources such as the Puranas, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana – which contain extensive genealogies of kings that date back thousands of years – and which mainstream scholars reject as mythology.
The question of the origin of the Indo-Aryans has become the most controversial, emotive, and polarizing debate in India today. It pits these two diametrically opposing narratives against one another.
Scientific inquiry is the only way forward
The scientific method requires researchers to take a theory seriously until it can be irrefutably demonstrated to be false using systematic observations, carefully controlled and replicable tests and experiments, scientific techniques, the application of logic, and hard evidence. Science is not concerned with narratives, ideologies, beliefs, dogma, or opinions. Science deals in empirical or measurable evidence and in hard facts. Conclusions are drawn based on scientific evidence, and can change in the face of new evidence.
While India’s history textbooks continue to teach antiquated and unscientific 19th century concepts and ideas well into the 21st century, the world has moved on.
The interrelated fields of population genetics, comparative genetics, archaeogenetics, genomics, and genotyping have made it possible to gain an unprecedented insight into the nature of human genetic diversity. These are rapidly evolving disciplines which, in the coming years and decades, will revolutionize our understanding of how our species evolved. These advances in genetics, as well as new archaeological investigations, have brought forth new evidence and presented us with new facts.
What is the new evidence? What new facts have emerged? Let us find out.
How old is the Indian civilization? Archaeological evidence
Radiocarbon dating has demonstrated that Bhirrana, a site on the banks of the now-defunct Sarasvati river, existed in the 6th millennium BCE (8,000 years before present). A more recent study proves that Bhirrana and other settlements in the Sarasvati valley are at least 9,500 years old, and possibly older [1].
Bhirrana, the oldest known Harappan site, is at least 9,500 years old.
Bhirrana, the oldest known Harappan site, is at least 9,500 years old.
Sarkar et al’s study found that the Sarasvati was a mighty river along which Indian civilization’s earliest settlements were founded. It states that the monsoon declined monotonically after 5,000 BCE, gradually weakening the Sarasvati, which is known to have eventually dried out to a large extent around 1,500 BCE. The Harappan civilization thus gradually deurbanized due to declining monsoons, rather than collapsed abruptly. Smaller settlements continued, and eventually dispersed toward the Himalayan foothills, the Ganga-Yamuna plain, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
These results were obtained by studying just one site on the Sarasvati’s dry paleo-channel. More than 500 such sites are known to exist along the ancient river’s course, and there may be many more. Investigating more sites will give a better idea of the age of the civilization and possibly demonstrate that it is even older.
The seasonal, intermittent Ghaggar-Hakra river is what is left of the once-mighty Sarasvati.

Dating the Rig Veda using Sarkar et al’s study
The Sarasvati is extensively mentioned in the Rig Veda, India’s foundational literary text. It is referred to as “greatest of rivers”, “glorious”, “loudly roaring”, and “mother of floods”. This clearly refers to a mighty river in its prime, not one in decline.
This falsifies the AIT account that the Rig Veda was composed after a purported Aryan invasion/migration circa 1,500 BCE, and indicates that it was composed closer to 5,000 BCE when the river was last in its prime per the results of Sarkar et al’s study. This raises serious questions about the AIT’s validity.
India’s “mainstream” historians dismiss the Rig Veda as mythology. This is a naive and subjective assumption that betrays an unscholarly bias on their part. If the Rig Veda is mythology, then so are Herodotus‘ fanciful and inaccurate Histories. Herodotus, however, continues to be cited as a reliable historian. This smacks of double standards. The Rig Veda is certainly less fanciful than Herodotus’ Histories. Moreover, it is a veritable treasure that gives us the earliest literary insight into human society and thought. As such, it must be taken seriously.
Archaeology demonstrates Indian civilization’s continuity
The renowned archaeologist Professor B. B. Lal, whose distinguished career spanned more than half a century, refutes the AIT, based on his extensive archaeological discoveries and research. He asserts that there is no evidence for warfare or invasion, and that the theory of Aryan migration too is a myth. He further states that “Vedic” and “Harappan” are respectively literary and material facets of the same civilization.
In his book “The Rigvedic People: Invaders? Immigrants? or Indigenous?”, Professor Lal gives extensive archaeological evidence that many of the traditions and customs prevalent in the Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization continue to exist in modern India [2]. He demonstrates that Yoga, the Shiva-linga-cum-yoni, the use of vermilion (sindura) in married women’s hair partition, the use of spiralled bangles among women in Haryana and Rajasthan, the folk tale of the thirsty crow, the Namaste greeting, Lord Shiva’s trident, and many other aspects of contemporary Hinduism and Indian culture originated in the Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization. Similar evidence is provided in Michel Danino’s seminal work “The Lost River: On The Trail of the Sarasvati” [3].
This refutes the theory that the Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization was destroyed and supplanted with a “foreign” Hindu culture and civilization, and proves that modern India is a continuation of that ancient civilization. Dr. Vasant Shinde, another internationally renowned archaeologist, concurs.

Genetic evidence demolishes the AIT
The science of genetics has revolutionized the study of ancient history and given researchers an unprecedented ability of uncover details of humanity’s past. India has lagged behind in genetic research, and the government of India has in the past prohibited foreign researchers from collecting genetic samples of Indians. This restriction has been removed of late, and, as a consequence, a new picture of Indian history is emerging.
Consider the following:
This research paper demonstrates the absence of any significant outside genetic influence in India for the past 10,000 – 15,000 years [4].
This research paper excludes any significant patrilineal gene flow from East Europe to Asia, including India, at least since the mid-Holocene period (7,000 to 5,000 years ago) [5].
This research paper rejects the possibility of an Aryan invasion/migration and concludes that Indian populations are genetically unique and harbor the second highest genetic diversity after Africans [6].
These three research papers demolish the AIT. They conclusively and irrefutably prove that there was no Aryan invasion circa 1500 BCE. This is just the beginning of the revelations.
The family that conquered the world … originated in India
In genetic terminology, a “haplogroup” is a group of individuals that share a common ancestor with a particular genetic mutation. A haplogroup pertains to a single line of descent which typically dates back several thousand years. In other words, a haplogroup is a large, extended family or clan, all of whose members have a shared ancestry. There are two types of haplogroups: Y-chromosome (patrilineal) haplogroups, and mtDNA (matrilineal) haplogroups. Haplogroups are identified by letters of the alphabet (A, B, C, etc.) and sub-groups are denoted by letters and numbers (A1, A1a, etc.).
The Y-chromosomal (patrilineal) haplogroup R1a1a (also known as R-M17) is the world’s most successful extended family. Its members number in the high hundreds of millions, possibly over a billion. It is widespread across Eurasia, with high concentrations in Russia, Poland and Ukraine, as well as in the Indian subcontinent and the Tuva region of Russia.
R1a1a is closely associated with the spread of Indo-European languages across Eurasia. In India, R1a1a is identified as the haplogroup that represents the Indo-Aryan people. It records an uninterrupted lineage of males, from father to son, all of whom have descended from one common male ancestor.
Distribution of haplogroup R1a1a (purple) in Eurasia.
Distribution of haplogroup R1a1a (purple) in Eurasia.
This research paper demonstrates that the R1a1* haplogroup, which is found throughout Eurasia, originated in India [7]. Here, the * refers to all subgroups of the parent haplogroup R1a1.
The R1a* haplogroup which originated in India is at least 18,000 years old [7].
The R1a* haplogroup which originated in India is at least 18,000 years old [7].
This more recent study published in 2015 confirms and refines the results of [7], demonstrating that the oldest examples of the haplogroup R1a are found in the Indian subcontinent and are approximately 15,450 years old [8].
This is a momentous discovery. It proves that:
The R1a haplogroup originated in India.
The Indo-Aryan people have lived in India for at least 15,450 years, which invalidates the theory that the Indo-Aryans invaded India 3,500 years ago.
The hundreds of millions of members (possibly over a billion) of the R1a family living across the world today – a very large fraction of humanity – are all descended from one single male ancestor who lived in India at least 15,450 years ago.
This discovery demonstrates the close genetic (and hence linguistic and cultural) affinity of Indians with the Russian and Polish people, the Vikings and Normans, and with the ancient Scythians and Tocharians, among many others.
This is irrefutable scientific proof that not only did the Indo-Aryan people originate in India over 15,450 years ago, but also that they expanded out of India and settled lands far to the west in Europe. It thoroughly invalidates the AIT.
Contextualizing contradictory genetic studies
While I have presented several research papers that invalidate the AIT, I would be remiss if I did not mention here that some other genetic studies claim that the AIT is correct. How does one interpret this?
The answer is simple: None of these other studies has been able to disprove the results of [7] and [8], namely, that the oldest examples of the haplogroup R1a are found in the Indian subcontinent and are at least 15,450 years old. None of them has been able to find older examples of R1a anywhere else in the world.
As long as the results of [7] and [8] stand, the AIT remains invalidated.
The myth of the Aryan-Dravidian divide and the “high caste”-“low caste” divide
The supposed Aryan-Dravidian divide is a myth. This Nature report, which cites three genetic studies, demonstrates that most Indians are genetically alike, belying the hypothesis of an Aryan-Dravidian dichotomy [9]. Other studies have also demonstrated that people in north India are no different from those in the south and that all share the same genetic lineage.
The R1a1a haplogroup is found in high frequencies in north Indians as well as south Indians, in tribal communities, and in “low castes” as well as in “high castes”.
Claims that the Dravidians belong to a separate, non-Hindu civilization are also discredited by ancient Tamil Sangam literature, which dates back to c. 300 BCE. The Mahabharata is mentioned in the oldest Tamil Sangam literature. The Vedas and the Ramayana are also mentioned in Sangam literature. Sangam literature mentions the whole of India, starting from lands to “the north of the Himalayas”, which contradicts the claim that the Dravidians were confined to the south of India.
The above evidence, taken together, demonstrates the genetic and cultural continuity of India from the north to the south, and proves that the artificial concepts of the “Aryan-Dravidian divide” and the “high caste”-“low caste” divide have no basis in fact.
Literary Evidence for Westward Indo-Aryan expansion
Consider the Baudhayana Shrauta Sutra, a Vedic text. Baudhayana Shrauta Sutra 18:44 records:
“Amavasu migrated westward. His people are Gandhari, Parsu and Aratta.”
This refers to a Vedic king called Amavasu, whose people are the Gandhari (Gandhara – Afghanistan), the Parsu (Persians) and the Aratta, who are tentatively identified as living in the vicinity of Mt. Ararat which is located in Turkey (eastern Anatolia) and Armenia.
Baudhayana Shrauta Sutra 18:44.
Baudhayana Shrauta Sutra 18:44.
Afghanistan (Gandhara) was historically part of the Indian civilization until the Islamic invasions. The name “Persia” comes from the ancient Parshva people (an Aryan clan). The word “Parshva” is derived from the Sanskrit/Avestan (Old Persian) word “Parshu”, which means “battle-axe”. There are clear linguistic and cultural similarities between India and Persia.
The original, non-Hellenized names of ancient Persian kings, Achaemenid Dynasty (c. 550 – 330 BCE).
The original, non-Hellenized names of ancient Persian kings, Achaemenid Dynasty (c. 550 – 330 BCE).
The traditional Armenian name for Mt. Ararat is Masis. It is named after the legendary Armenian king Amasya. The name “Amasya” is linguistically related to the name “Amavasu” of the Indian king recorded in the Baudhayana Shrauta Sutra. This establishes literary evidence for the westward expansion of Indo-Aryans, via Afghanistan, to Persia, Armenia and Anatolia.
The German Indologist M. Witzel and the Marxist historian Romila Thapar have in the past misinterpreted this passage to mean that Amavasu migrated eastward, which caused a heated controversy.
Archaeological Evidence for Westward Indo-Aryan expansion
The ancient kingdom of Mitanni, located in present-day Syria and Anatolia, had an Indo-Aryan, Sanskrit-speaking ruling class. Mitanni kings had Indo-Aryan names.

The oldest recorded (Vedic) Sanskrit words are found in a horse training manual by a Mitanni horse master named Kikkuli. Although the text is written in the Hittite language, it appears that Kikkuli was not familiar enough with that language to use technical terms, which made it necessary for him to use the terminology of his own language (Vedic Sanskrit) instead.

The Mitanni belonged to the Indian-origin haplogroup R1a1a. This is clear evidence of a large-scale westward expansion of Sanskrit-speaking Indo-Aryans, and their presence as the ruling aristocracy in lands thousands of kilometers west of India. This quashes the asinine claim that the first speakers of Sanskrit were Syrians, a claim that would be laughable were it not portrayed as serious journalism in a mainstream publication.
Genetic Evidence for Westward Indo-Aryan expansion
Recent DNA evidence shows that Europe experienced a massive population influx from the east, beginning around 4,500 years ago [10]. Several haplogroups were involved in this demic expansion, including the Indian-origin R1a1a. This was almost a total replacement event, which indicates that Indo-Aryans, among others, expanded westward into Europe and to a large extent replaced indigenous European males and their Y-chromosome strata.
This indicates military expansion. Conquest.
This genetic evidence indicates that several Y-chromosomal (patrilineal) lineages, one of which was the Indian-origin R1a1a, gave rise to the modern European population. Out of these lineages, R1a1a is the most widespread and numerous.
The children of Goddess Danu
The primordial Rig Vedic river goddess Danu is the mother/progenitor of the Danava clan of Indo-Aryans. The Danavas revolted against the Devas, and were eventually defeated and banished. As it turns out, that was far from the end of their story.
The Avestan (old Iranian) word for “river” is “dānu”. The Scythian (Saka/Shaka) & Sarmatian words for “river” are also “dānu”.
Now consider this: linguistically, the names of the European rivers Danube, Dnieper, Dniester, Don, Donets, Dunajec, Dvina/Daugava, and Dysna are all derived from the Rig Vedic Sanskrit root word “dānu”. These rivers flow across eastern & central Europe. These rivers, all named after the Rig Vedic goddess Danu, seem to trace the gradual westward migration through Europe of the Danava clan of Rig Vedic Indo-Aryans.
So where did the Danavas eventually end up?
Danu, mother goddess of the Irish and Celtic people.
Danu, mother goddess of the Irish and Celtic people.
According to Irish & Celtic mythology, the Irish & Celtic people are descended from a mother goddess – a river goddess – called Danu. The ancient (mythological) people of Ireland are called the Tuatha Dé Danann (Old Irish: “The peoples of the goddess Danu”).
Is there genetic evidence to support this story? As it turns out, there is. The R1a1a haplogroup is rare in Ireland, at 2.5% of the population. This can be explained by the fact that Ireland has suffered many invasions since the Bronze Age, which would have led to the gradual replacement of the R1a1a haplogroup with those of the various invaders. The fact that R1a1a is still present in Ireland proves that people of Indo-Aryan origin settled there in the past.
What the mountain of new evidence indicates
It is clear that there is layer upon layer of archaeological, literary, linguistic, and, most importantly, genetic evidence that forms a consistent, repeated, and predictable pattern that debunks the AIT and supports the Indigenous Aryans Theory. These layers of evidence, taken together, paint a vast canvas and prove that:
The Indo-Aryan people and languages originated in the Indian subcontinent.
The Vedic civilization and the Indus valley civilization (Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization) are one and the same.
The Rig Veda was composed closer to c. 5,000 BCE when the river Sarasvati was last in its prime, than to c. 1,500 BCE when it dried out. This makes the Rig Veda a strong candidate for being the world’s oldest known literature.
Rather than being a religion of invaders, Hinduism is indigenous to India and has its origins in the very beginning of the Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization.
North Indians and South Indians are genetically and culturally alike. The Aryan-Dravidian divide is a myth; it has no basis in fact. The “high caste”-“low caste” divide also has no basis in fact.
Indian civilization is a continuous, unbroken tradition that dates back to the very beginning of the Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization, at least 9,500 years before present. This makes India not only the world’s oldest civilization, older than Mesopotamia and Egypt, but also the world’s oldest continuously existing civilization. This makes India the true Cradle of Civilization.
Indo-Aryans carrying R1a1a lineages expanded westward thousands of years ago, conquering and populating territories as far west as Europe. They were the most successful conquerors in human history. Their descendants are the Slavs (Russians, Ukrainians, Czechs, Poles, Slovaks, Serbs, Croats, Macedonians, etc.), the Scandinavians, and many others.
In other words, the new evidence comprehensively debunks the 19th century’s colonial Aryan Invasion Theory and its late 20th century refinement, the Indo-Aryan Migration theory.
Will the new evidence set the controversy to rest?
The question of the origin of the Indo-Aryans concerns the very idea of India.
The mainstream AIT/IAMT narrative, which portrays Indo-Aryan (Hindu) culture as hegemonic, racist, intolerant, rapacious, and inegalitarian, imposes an Indian version of “white guilt” on persons of Indo-Aryan ancestry, and engenders deep resentment and a desire to right historical wrongs among persons of Dravidian and “Dalit” ancestry – which manifests itself in various forms such as separatism and rejection of Hinduism and Indian culture, among others.
This makes the AIT a powerful political tool which dovetails perfectly with the leftist, “secular”, and “liberal” political narrative, as well as with the agendas of Dravidian nationalists, Dalit supremacists, missionaries, separatists, and other Breaking India forces, internal as well as external. As such, it has long been used to neatly divide India into dichotomous categories such as North and South Indians, Aryans and Dravidians, the fair skinned and the dark skinned, “high castes” and “Dalits”, the privileged and the oppressed.
It is difficult to overstate how much the AIT has strengthened the leftist narrative. The left/secular/liberal ecosystem derives much of its strength and power from its decades-old stranglehold on Indian academia, especially in the humanities (but also in other fields). Leftist academics staff or control most of India’s humanities departments. Leftist historians and academics monopolize academic discourse in India and marginalize dissenting voices. The leftist clique has ensured that every school, college, and university textbook teaches the AIT.
India’s education system discourages students from asking questions and thinking on their own. This conditioning makes them accept the leftist narrative without question. As a consequence, several generations of Indians have grown up and spent their lives hating, or, at the very least, feeling ashamed of their culture and heritage.
The AIT gives leftist academics the ideal rationale for denigrating Indian culture, exhorting “lower caste” students to reject Hinduism and rebel against “the establishment”, encouraging female students to reject Hinduism for being patriarchal and misogynistic, calling into question India’s right to exist as a nation, and supporting anti-national and separatist movements, all on academic and scholarly grounds. This is the modus operandi by which several generations of unquestioning and impressionable students have been indoctrinated and recruited into the leftist movement.
The AIT also gives India’s “liberals” and secularists the perfect justification for promoting hatred and intolerance toward Indian culture while at the same time claiming to be liberal and progressive.
The AIT is thus the academic premise underpinning the entire spectrum of methods the various “Breaking India” forces employ to attack India’s culture and undermine India’s integrity. It is their trump card. Take it away, and they have nothing else left.
It is therefore vitally important for them that this theory remains the dominant narrative in India. This is the reason why, instead of investigating the Indigenous Aryans Theory (IAT) using all means available, India’s leftist historians and academics have for decades dismissed it out of hand as “Hindutva”. This is why they decry any attempt to alter the status quo (such as modernizing history textbooks) as “fascism” and “historical revisionism”, and why they have marginalized scholars such as the distinguished professor B. B. Lal, whose immense body of work has never been allowed to make it to Indian textbooks.
They will not be swayed by the mountain of new evidence that proves there was no Aryan invasion of India. The truth does not matter to an ideologue. Leftist academics are political activists first and foremost. Being a lecturer, a professor, or a head of department is merely a means to an end for them, the end being: to mold the opinions and political leanings of future generations of Indians, to indoctrinate them into the leftist ideology, to recruit new followers, and to champion the leftist agenda at all times.
I therefore expect India’s “eminent” leftist historians to either ignore the results of the research papers and studies cited herein (as they have largely done thus far), or to respond with cherry-picked data and flawed logic as has long been their wont.
Some attempts to raise questions about the validity of genetic studies have already been made. Consider this opinion piece, wherein Romila Thapar declaims that genetics and DNA analysis are “not of much help to social historians” as, according to her, “Aryan is a social construct and therefore genetic information is unlikely to be useful unless the parameters defining the groups for analysis undergo some rethinking” [11].
Her Eminence could not be more wrong. The term “Arya” (which is anglicized to “Aryan”) is an ethnic self-designation, not a “social construct”. It is one that both the ancient Indians and Persians used for themselves. Ethnicities are ideally suited for genetic investigation. If there is any confusion about the meaning of this term, it is because ideologues like Thapar have used their academic positions to systematically obfuscate its real meaning and give it political and ideological color.
This article [11] is typical of India’s leftist academics: devoid of original research, based on other people’s work, presents a subjective opinion rather than hard results, and uses far-fetched and convoluted logic to make biased and untenable arguments that are unsupported by scientific evidence.
Expect more of the same. And expect the left/secular/liberal ecosystem, especially the mainstream media (which, ironically, espouses fringe views), to keep championing the AIT and the leftist narrative.
The way forward: India must take ownership of research
It is well-established that India’s population is genetically unique and harbors the second highest genetic diversity after that of Africa. Research into India’s genetics has not been given much importance and is still in its infancy. Much of it is authored by foreign authors and conducted from outside India. This must change. India must take ownership of the research into its past, the same way China has done for itself. In order to achieve this, India must do the following.
First, India must conceive and launch a large-scale project whose objectives are:
To establish a detailed catalog of the genetic variation in India’s population.
To correlate Indian genetics with those in other regions of Eurasia.
To map migration patterns in and out of India.
To do this, India needs to develop world-class genetics research groups and establish state-of-the-art genetic testing laboratories. At present, Indian researchers have to send genetic material abroad for testing.
Second, the DNA of skeletons found in Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization sites such as Rakhigarhi must be analyzed in order to determine their ancestry and genetics. Although there is undeniable evidence that the Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization is the same as the Vedic civilization, its genetics are the one missing piece of the puzzle. If the R1a1a haplogroup is detected in these skeletons, it will end the debate over the civilization’s origins and language, once and for all.
DNA from four such skeletons was extracted in 2015 and the material was sent to South Korea for DNA testing. The results were expected to be published in 2016, but have not yet seen the light of day. Research such as this must be prioritized and fast-tracked.
Third, the well-known technique of forensic facial reconstruction should be employed to recreate the faces of individuals whose skeletons have been found in various Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization sites, so that we may learn what our ancestors looked like. Many of these skeletons are kept in various museums throughout the country. Forensic facial reconstruction is a routine, straightforward and inexpensive technique which has existed for decades, and which was recently employed to reconstruct the face of Richard III of England. It is inexplicable that the ASI has not done this yet.
Fourth, Indian textbooks must be modernized. They must be expunged of the blatant leftist slant that has plagued them for decades. History textbooks especially need to be decontaminated. Education must based upon hard facts and scientific evidence; it must not be allowed to be used as a political tool.
Finally, Fifth, the leftist choke-hold on Indian academia must end. The leftist clique has succeeded in propagandizing generations of otherwise intelligent Indians, conditioning them to unquestioningly buy into their fringe narrative. Its institutionalized sophistry has indoctrinated countless students into supporting Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir and China’s stand on Tibet and Arunachal Pradesh, championing separatist and anarchist movements, and questioning India’s right to exist as a nation.
Education and academia must deal in knowledge, not narratives. Knowledge must remain pure, it must not be allowed to be influenced by ideology and politics. This requires large-scale systemic reforms, which is a topic for another article.
In Conclusion
There is now a mountain of scientific evidence that proves that the Aryan Invasion Theory is a myth. It is fiction. It belongs in the Big League of unscientific theories (which some still believe in), alongside creationism, anti-evolutionism, the myth of Noah’s ark, and flat earth theory.
The evidence shows that India is much more than a nation. It is the world’s oldest civilization.
India wasn’t born in 1947. Our great civilization was born at least nine and a half millennia ago according to archaeological evidence, and fifteen and a half millennia ago according to genetic evidence. The records of our great ancestors’ deeds are lost, destroyed in the fires and the depredations of the past millennium. The least we can do to honor our ancestors is to strive to rediscover the truth about them.
Who were the first Indians? When did they first arrive in India? Where from? What were their lives like? What was their society like? How did ancient Indian civilization evolve? What knowledge did they possess? What kind of science did they have? What discoveries did they make? What technologies did they develop? How did they build the largest ancient urban civilization the world has ever seen? What did they call their great cities? What language did they speak? Did they really develop a proto-democracy thousands of years before the Greeks? What kind of future did they envisage for India? What lessons can we learn from them?
These are the questions our “eminent” historians have not deigned to ask for the past seven decades. These are the answers we must seek, in order to rediscover our roots and understand who we really are.
The truth is out there. Its clues lie buried under our footsteps, scattered in our languages and our literature, and hidden deep in our DNA. Science is the key. We now possess the know-how and the technology to investigate and unravel the mystery. It is time to utilize it.
India’s rediscovery of its past has only begun. Exciting times are ahead.

Global Terrorism: Beating Around the Bush!
There is an idiom, ‘Beating around the bush.’ This expression according to dictionary means speaking vaguely or euphemistically so as to avoid talking directly about an unpleasant or sensitive topic. There is another statement often repeated in the context of terrorism, ‘All Muslims are not terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims.’ How much truth is there in this statement?
We are concerned here about terrorists and terrorism, and the danger it poses not just to one country but to the entire humanity. We are not concerned here about religion – any religion, including Islam – that is solely concerned with humans and their relation with God or with some unseen Supreme Divine Power that belongs to another world – the world hereafter.
We are concerned about things that are very much of this world – things that belong to this world only and not to the world hereafter. Those who are occupied with the things that belong to another world – the world hereafter – are nice people; they are the light and hope of this world; they are welcome to the humanity; they have always been welcome to the humanity. It is good that they so occupy themselves with their heavenly pursuit; and, they are the lovely gift to the humanity of this fleeting and mundane world.
But the danger to humanity – the danger of total annihilation of humanity – is not from people so preoccupied with their spiritual pursuits but from those who are very much occupied with the concerns of this world, though in the name of their concerns for the world hereafter. They are terrorists for this world. They are concerned with this world; they want to re-order this world. They are the bane of humanity; they are the scourge of our race – Homo sapiens.
The old idiom ‘Beating around the bush’ today translates into another idiom of a very recent origin, ‘Being politically correct.’ People around the world who matter – leaders of their countries – think that they cannot afford to talk directly about an unpleasant or sensitive issue of terrorism. This predicament is not with the leaders of democratic countries alone, where seeking public votes is a major concern of political leaders. It is a worldwide mental attitude of politicians. Even in the countries where people’s votes are not needed to come to political power, like China, the leaders follow this old edge of beating around the bush – or speaking vaguely or euphemistically – and safely tread their political career.
But how long the humanity can afford to look the other way? How long the humanity can afford to beat around the bush and not come to the point – the real issue, the crux, the root – in dealing this scourge of humanity called terrorism? The common sense must tell the humanity that it is only a matter of time – scores of a few decades or even a few years – that the atomic weapons will be in the hands of terrorists. It cannot be avoided forever. It is the dead sure reality. No one has power to stop the ingenuity of humans, not even of the terrorists.
And no one needs to be told today what atomic weapons, if used, can do to humanity. It will bring catastrophe to the life, including humans, where they are detonated. And, if there is retaliatory strike it may set of a panic chain reaction forcing all others to use! It will be a hell on the Earth. Terrorists can very well – without a second thought – use these atomic weapons if they find themselves defeated in the contest with their antagonists. They would not hesitate to use them – use them to kill themselves and taking down all others with them – just to earn the heavenly rewards for their martyrdom in the world hereafter, in the world of their imagination! The only condition for the terrorists to use these atomic weapons is to possess them – to lay hands on them. Nothing more is needed to explode them!
For them who are concerned with their welfare in this world – and not in the world hereafter – it is not material to find out the real meaning of the holy text that is meant for Muslims. For them it is material to find out the meaning of this text as it is understood by terrorists. It is a dispute between Muslims and terrorists to ascertain its true meaning and it is they alone who have to sort it out between them. How this text is understood by the terrorists and their organizations is clear from what they are doing worldwide, of which organizations a list is given here.
Let the humanity not beat around the bush and let the humanity grapple with the issue – how to uproot the root cause – of this humanity’s scourge.
The issue before the humanity is how to save our children – the future generations of humanity – from the toxic teachings of terrorism; how to safeguard our children, our future, our Earth from the toxic text that mentally prepares the terrorists. Is it impossible to achieve this objective? Is it our mental estimation of the impossibility of achieving such a goal that forces us to avoid directly talking about the issue – forces us to beat around the bush?
There can be many ways to deal with this problem, the technological and the non-technological in nature. In technological ways may be medical and psychological ones. It is possible for the united humanity to employ the psychological methods to stop the brain-washing of children by pumping repeatedly into their young mind such ideas and then reinforce them by public display of symbols associated with such ideas.
This could be achieved by prohibiting worldwide the teaching of this toxic text to a child till he is an adult of mature mind. This prohibition could be implemented internationally by enforcing economic sanctions and political isolation against those who refuse to fall in line. For the success of such a possibility it is necessary for the international community to first stop beating around the bush and to grapple directly with the real issue. Humanity would need to create a consensus to tackle this challenge to its survival.
The list of the organizations reads thus:

And, as if this marauding crowed of fanatics ready to die is not enough, these armed groups practice deceit to vanquish their enemies – Kaffirs – and have a religious technical term for practising this deceit, called Taqia. Have a look at the kinds of Taqia:
There are SIX DIFFERENT WAYS of deception that are permissible in Islam with the holy blessing of Sharia law:
1) taqiyya,
2) kitman,
3) tawriya,
4) taysir,
5) darura,
6) muruna
•Taqiyya (Shia) or Muda’rat (Sunni): tactical deceit for the purposes of spreading Islam.
•Kitman: deceit by omission.
•Tawriya: deceit by ambiguity.
•Taysir: deceit through facilitation (not having to observe all the tenets of Sharia).
•Darura: deceit through necessity (to engage in something “Haram” or forbidden).
•Muruna: the temporary suspension of Sharia to make Muslim migrants appear “moderate.”
As a result, Muslim look and feel ‘good’ when they lie to the DIRTY KUFAAR.”
A well-informed article detailing EIGHT kinds of Jihad being waged by these groups and using these tactics or Taqia is available HERE:
Who is a Brahmin and Who is a Shudra? No Place for Dalit Politics in India!

How anyone can become a Brahmana – Yudhishtra’s insight!
We saw in How anyone can become a Brahmana – Bhagwan Krishna’s insight article, how Guna and Karma determine the Brahmanahood and not birth. By cultivating the traits identified by Krishna, anyone expressing them becomes a Brahmana. Almost a decade prior to recording Krishna’s Bhagavad Gita, Yudhishtra is challenged to define who is a Brahmana in order to save Bhima. Also, in another instance, he is taken to task to answer the subtleties of dharma as a part of 124 question answer session with Yama as Yaksha Prashna. These two episodes give us a very clear picture from an evolved human’s perspective, rather than Bhagwan Krishna.
Episode 1 – Ajagara Parva
This incident is captured as an upaparva – Ajagara Parva which occurs as a part of theVana Parva in the Mahabharata. When the Pandavas were banished to the forests for a 12 year period to be followed by a year of incognito following their loss in the game of dice, upon Krishna’s advice, Arjuna departs to do penance to obtain divyastras. The remaining four Pandavas with Draupadi spent a lackluster life in Arjuna’s absence. One day, Bhima, during a hunting expedition, gets caught by a huge python. The power of ten thousand elephants in Bhima was no match in front of the snake, who was his ancestor Nahusha, who assumed this accursed form due to his bad behavior against Sage Agastya. Nahusha was threatening to consume Bhima, while a concerned Yudhishtra found him in this miserable plight. Nahusha had a grave ignorance about who was a Brahmana and sought this information from Yudhishtra, in return to release Bhima.
Yudhishtra not only gave a deep insight to Nahusha, but also counters him with his own set of questions. In the end, Nahusha released Bhima and ascends to heaven in his human form. So let us focus on the question of Nahusha, Who is a Brahmana? Yudhishtra responds:
सत्यं दानं क्षमा शीलम आनृशंस्यं दमॊ घृणा
दृश्यन्ते यत्र नागेन्द्र स बराह्मण इति समृतः
satyaṃ dānaṃ kṣamā śīlam ānṛśaṃsyaṃ damo ghṛṇā
dṛśyante yatra nāgendra sa brāhmaṇa iti smṛtaḥ
Truthfulness, generosity, patience, good character, compassion, self-control, tenderness
One in whom these are seen, O King of Snakes, he is a Brahmana. Thus it is known.
The first thing to be noted again that Varna is not a genetic condition like the Abrahamic born sinner, but a mere reflection of one’s real character. It is very evident that Yudhishtra shares a large number of character traits defining a Brahmana with Krishna. It appears that Krishna’s pool of gunas are more from a spiritual / paramarthika plane, which Yudhishtra’s though perfectly in alignment seems to be more from a human stand point /vyavaharika plane. Unless one masters Yudhishtra’s set of characters, it will be impossible to perfect Krishna’s subtler, esoteric values.
सत्यं – Truth – The very first advice, in Taittreya Upanishad, a student leaving Gurukula is given is to Speak TRUTH. Vedas identify Paramathma/Brahman as Satyam. The reason why we bring this character to our lives is to mirror the eternal, all-pervading Only Reality. As one gets rooted in Satyam, one can perceive different layers of Truth, leading to the Absolute Truth. It may be ironical to note that some religions even promote deception in their holy texts to spread their idea, a complete anti thesis to Sanatana Dharma.
दानं – Generosity – Is borne out of Self-sacrifice. When one sees the single Truth reflected in everyone, including oneself as the same, a natural tendency not to discriminate or distinguish based on ego based limitations blossoms. There is no feeling of “I” giving or sharing “My” or “Mine”. It appears just like the hands rush to the defence of the eyes or other parts of the body naturally, giving and generosity happens naturally. Till that state occurs, it has to be cultivated.
क्षमा – Patience, forgiveness – (Read more inHow anyone can become a Brahmana – Bhagwan Krishna’s insight as क्षान्तिः)
शीलम – Good Character – Is an ensemble of all good virtues. Since many such ideas are nonexistent outside Sanatana Dharma, it becomes very hard to find translatables. It also implies discipline as it is impossible to cultivate sheela without it.
आनृशंस्यं – Compassion – It is again a natural expression of sympathy as one seeks to find the unity behind all things and beings in the Universe. A secular or westernized idea of feeling sorry for others is a far cry from the natural feeling of karuna that wells to someone in distress. This is not expectation based.
दम – Self-Control – (Read more in How anyone can become a Brahmana – Bhagwan Krishna’s insight)
घृणा – Tenderness – They occur in the same family as compassion. Softness for the feelings of others, though one may be at an exalted state, is a trait of the spiritually evolved. A Bhakta feels this as a duty towards other beings in whom (S)he sees the Paramatma. A Jnani though may have transcended one’s feelings still exhibits this trait feeling the ignorance of the other being that has led to its misery.
Nahusha rightly counters Yudhishtra that qualities of Truthfulness, generosity, non-anger, compassion, nonviolence, and tenderness are found even in Shudras so how can it be an identifying trait of a Brahmana. Yudhishtra responds:
शूद्रे चैतद भवेल लक्ष्यं दविजे तच च न विद्यते
न वै शूद्रॊ भवेच छूद्रॊ बराह्मणॊ न च बराह्मणः
śūdre caitad bhavel lakṣyaṃ dvije tac ca na vidyate
na vai śūdro bhavec chūdro brāhmaṇo na ca brāhmaṇaḥ
A shudra in whom these virtues exist and a dvija in whom they do not exist, that shudra is not a shudra and that Brahmana is not a Brahmana.
यत्रैतल लक्ष्यते सर्पवृत्तं स बराह्मणः समृतः
यत्रैतन न भवेत सर्पतं शूद्रम इति निर्दिशेत
yatraital lakṣyate sarpavṛttaṃ sa brāhmaṇaḥ smṛtaḥ
yatraitan na bhavet sarpataṃ śūdram iti nirdiśet
O Snake, in whom these virtues exist, he is a Brahmana, it is said. O snake, in whom these virtues do not exist, he is a shudra. Thus it is taught.
Yudhishtra clarifies beyond a shadow of doubt that the presence of virtuous characters alone qualifies a person as a Brahmana and the lack of it brings down to a default state, Shudra.
Skanda Purana declares
जन्मना जायते शूद्रः संस्कारात् द्विज उच्यते।
शापानुग्रहसामर्थ्यं तथा क्रोधः प्रसन्नता ।|31-34||
By birth we are all a shudra, irrespective of where we are born. It becomes the responsibility of the person’s Purushartha, an expression of his gunas through his karmas. Yudhishtra’s authoritative insights affirm the reasoning that Gunas and Karma determine our Varna and not birth as it is deemed to be in current context.
Episode 2 – Yaksha Prashna
The second conclusive insight into Yudhishtra’s mind comes in the form of a discussion between Yaksha and Yudhishtra as Dharma Baka Upakhyan or popularly known as Yaksha Prashna found in the Vana Parva portion of the Mahabharata.
Just prior to the time when the Pandavas have to go incognito, according to the rules of the game, one day a mysterious Brahmin appeared in front of the them, pleading to retrieve the Arani sticks (These are the sticks used to create friction and fire for the daily fire rituals) which got entangled in a deer’s antlers. Chasing this deer, an exhausted, thirsty Pandavas decided to quench before relaunching the mission. Nakula was first sent in the direction of a pond where an akashavani, bodiless voice, warned him to first respond to a series of questions, before quenching his thirst. Nakula ignored and sipped water to fall dead. Sahadeva who followed suit, shocked by a dead Nakula met the same result for his similar actions. Arjuna and Bhima came one after the other to exhibit the same behavior only to perish.
Yudhishtra arrives at the scene and is shocked to see his dead brothers. At a distance he spots a crane, which boasts that it is the reason for his brother’s death as they did not heed to its words. Yudhishtra challenges the crane to show its form and a Yaksha appeared. The Yaksha poses 124 questions in sets of four (in a theme) and Yudhishtra satisfactorily gives insightful response. A quick glance at the questions, especially for the ones who have no practical understanding of Sanatana Dharma, makes one feel as a silly riddles. While a comprehensive treatment of Yaksha Prashna is outside our topic, it is important to note that there are layers of meanings hidden behind the simple question and answers. Eventually theYaksha reveals that he was Yama, his father, who came to test the depth of his dharma understanding.
The third set of four questions from Yaksha is the subject of our study.
[यक्ष]
किं बराह्मणानां देवत्वं कश च धर्मः सताम इव
कश चैषां मानुषॊ भावः किम एषाम असताम इव
[yakṣa]
kiṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ devatvaṃ kaś ca dharmaḥ satām iva
kaś caiṣāṃ mānuṣo bhāvaḥ kim eṣām asatām iva
Yaksha places the next set of four questions – What constitutes divinity for Brahmanas? What is their eternal dharma? What defines the human level of action for Brahmanas? What is impious action for a Brahmana?
[युधिष्ठिरः]
स्वाध्याय एषां देवत्वं तप एषां सतामिव।
मरणं मानुषो भावः परिवादोऽसतामिव
[y]
svādhyāya eṣāṃ devatvaṃ tapa eṣāṃ satām iva
maraṇaṃ mānuṣo bhāvaḥ parivādo ‘satām iva
Yudhishtra responds – Svadhyaya (The study ofVedas) defines the divinity for a Brahmana.Tapas is the essence of a Brahmana’s dharma. Death defines the human level of a Brahmana. Talking ill about others, slander (Condemn, complain, criticize) is the most impious act forbidden for a Brahamana.
Let us analyze the questions first. Yakshawants to know if there is an elevated level ofBrahmanatva, the divine aspect and if there is a human level of the floor for being defined as Brahmanatva. He also wants clarity on what amongst their practices is the most pious or the real essence of Brahmanatva. Lastly he wants Yudhishtra to identify the characteristic which is unbecoming of a Brahamana.
Yudhistra’s responses are terse and precise.
- Svadhyaaya, study of Vedas is the highest or the divine aspect of a Brahmana. This is in line with the much misinterpreted maligned Manusmriti
अध्यापनम् अध्ययनं यजनं याजनं तथा | दानं प्रतिग्रहंच-एव ब्राह्मणानां अकल्पयत् || 1.88
To Brahmanas he assigned teaching and studying (the Veda), sacrificing for their own benefit and for others, giving and accepting (of alms). Note: This does not forbade others from reading it. It only makes it mandatory for Brahmana, again that is Guna and karma based, not birth.
In today’s context, we will be forced to expand Svadhyaya to include Itihasas, puranas, Upanishads, Gita and Vedanta texts. But caution must be exercised not to include commentaries or twisted versions of narratives given by self styled non practicing mythologists or indologists.
- Tapas constitutes the real essence of a Brahamana’s dharma. We have dealt it in detail How anyone can become a Brahmana – Bhagwan Krishna’s insight and understood that austerity is of three types – words, mind and action.Tapascharya is the bedrock of being a Brahmana, a far cry in today’s world.
- Death is the human level of being a Brahmana. Western minded and ignoramuses are amused at such an utterance. Does that make a real Brahmana an immortal? Death in normal parlance is understood as that of the body. When a person misunderstands that anantman the body as the real atman, this Dehatmabhiman is verily death to a real Brahmana understanding of real atman as eternal, as Satchitananda.Unless one rises above this limited thinking, such a Brahmana is at the floor of being a real Brahmana. Brahmavichar leads to identification with the Atman which transcends all the Anantman (viz., body, mind and its constructs). When one operates at the Atman level, they realize the descriptions of Krishna in Bhagavad Gita.
- What defines the anti-thesis of a Brahmana – slander, talking ill about others behind their back. Complain, condemn and criticize are the traits defined as parivada. In today’s context we must hasten to add watching soaps and serials that are not mere time wasters but also poison of the mind, hours on internet, social media in the name of tracking what others do, which is nothing more than glorified gossip will be under the ambit of parivada. In other words absence of shamaand dama (How anyone can become a Brahmana – Bhagwan Krishna’s insight).
Brahmana Today
In today’s context, where is the Brahmana? We have reduced it to a birth based system, thanks to the politician’s frenzied idea of votebank. They have been subject to constant attack by hoisting falsely cooked ideas by historians, politicians and society at large. But that is not the worst. The ones who are born in Brahmin families either follow the rituals without any understanding or not connecting with the real values outlined. Such a divorcing of values has left hardly any Brahmanas in the society.
The late sage of Kanchi, Chandrasekhara Saraswati (MahaPeriyava) through his Deivathin Kural (also available in English as Voice of God) warned that a majority of the social issues in India is due to the fact that Brahmins are not acting like real Brahmanas. The insight is so precise that even after half a century; it has only become more evident.
Instilling the real values of a Brahmana is of prime importance. The traditionally Brahmin by birth communities must take a lead amongst other saattvic individuals of any background. The only reason being they have the mental ecosystem, but the spiritual challenge is available to all. Reviving these traits outlined by Krishna, Yudhishtra and countless sages of this great Bharatvarsha, we can re-establish pockets of real Brahmanatva. Even if we have a handful of people with such real traits, they can revive and revitalize the society. We know how a single Narendra chose to become a Brahmana by his spiritual quest, shook the world as Swami Vivekananda.
We already saw in the two parts of this article series what traits one must acquire. Yet we must focus on some simple daily steps to climb this staircase to Brahmanatva.
- Svadhdhyaya – unless we get a periodic dose of spiritual insight by engaging with scriptures, it is impossible to work on our mind. This is akin to daily recharging our smartphones. If we want our minds to be charged we need this input.
- Sadhana – This is the internal application of what we have imbibed. What good is a charged smartphone if not put to use.
- Satsang – Association with the real wise and liberated is a real key to making progress. This is the association with the power source.
- Sewa – Unless we go back to society and contribute intellectually, spiritually, we cannot expect a change. We may be just one step ahead, but must learn to share not as an advanced person, but as a co-passenger in this cosmic spiritual journey. This helps rebuild the spiritual ecosystem we have lost. The smartphone ecosystem is the reason why we continue to get newer models. If there is only one phone in the entire world, will we be able to create any value?
The most important aspect is to fix the false narrative broadcast on powerful megaphones that Brahmana is a caste which oppressed others for generations. It is important that every reader strives to become a Brahmana and their lives will correct this false narrative. Identify the traits we need to work on. There is so much to burnish our minds before these saatvic qualities radiate from within, to make a difference all around, but also to lead us on the path of being a Brahamana, enroute to a complete identification of ourselves as Atman.
May we pray to the inner Narayana to guide us in this uphill task.

Why Hinduism is higher than all religions? (Quora Took Down Answer!)
Again one of my answers on Quora collapsed. I replied to the above question 7 months ago. Now it was taken down. Here it is:
I will restrict my answer to the three religions with the most followers.
Hinduism (the term is used today to cover many different strands) is based on the Vedas. One could call the Vedas the most ancient, original ‘revelation’, because the Rishis are not the authors of the Vedas. Due to their Tapas (austerities), they ‘saw’ (Sanskrit: drishtih = see) the mantras in cosmic awareness through the veil that prevents ordinary eyes from seeing them.
The Vedas were the first to claim that there is one great Brahman (Supreme Being) as the base of this varied manifestation, in whom all is contained. Nothing exists apart from Brahman. Brahman is not personal. It is infinite, eternal, blissful awareness. Our Atman (Self or I) is one with it.
Ages later, only some 2000 years ago, Christianity was ‘founded’ and claimed, that God has ‘revealed’ the full truth only to Jesus Christ and it is contained in the Bible.
A few centuries later, Islam was ‘founded’ and claimed, that Allah has ‘revealed the full truth only to Prophet Mohamed and it is contained in the Quran.
Both religions have copied the concept of one Supreme Being, but distorted the original, Vedic view in an unacceptable way, which has led to terrible misery over the centuries.
The distortion is this: The Supreme wants all humans to accept the revelation through Jesus, respectively through Mohamed. Those who do not accept the only true religion (of which two exist…) will be damned for all eternity to hellfire by God/ Allah personally on Judgment Day.
For long, the Church was intertwined with the state and punished those who disagreed with the doctrine most cruelly through state laws. Even in Goa, the Inquisition was most brutal under the Portuguese. However, in the age of enlightenment (which coincides with the time when the Vedic knowledge reached Europe and influenced the elite there) the Church had to give up interfering with the now ‘secular’ state.
Ever since, it does not have the power to punish heretics any longer, and it has lost and is still losing many members, because they are now allowed to get out of the Church and many realised that a lot of the doctrine does not make sense.
Islam does not need intertwining with the state, because it is one with the state wherever Muslims are in the majority. So the brutal punishment of heretics still happens in our times. Under Sharia Law leaving Islam means death sentence, and Kafirs are called the worst of creatures in the Quran itself. The believers are exhorted to fight the unbelievers till the whole world is for Allah. No guessing that this is the cause for a lot of misery.
Amazingly, these two religions are allowed to preach those distortions under the right to religious freedom even today. Especially children are vulnerable and believe what adults tell them.
Compare this with the view of Hinduism that the Supreme permeates all. Whoever believes it – and it is even more than belief, because it can be experienced – will have inner strength, because he knows that Divinity is in him, and further he will be kind to others, because he knows that Divinity is also in them.
Clearly, Hinduism is on a higher level.
If only more Christians and Muslims would reflect whether, what they learnt in childhood can possibly be true.
I think it was Voltaire who said: God gave me intelligence. I think He wants me to use it…
For those who have time for 5000 words, this explains, why Hindu Dharma is higher than religion and even higher science.

Those Who Love India, Owe Duty to Stand by Narendra Modi!
By: Commander V. K. Jaitly
In view of an experienced and seasoned leader that Narendra Modi is, it would be foolish on anyone’s part to think that he was not well aware of the outlash he will have to face from the business community for his disruptive step such as GST, which was to force the trading community to pay taxes on goods, something that they had been evading since forever.
Taking apparently disruptive steps like GST had been the need of the hour in India to increase the transparency and bring more indirect taxes into the net.
Last year, he took on a powerful community that no one in the history of India had ever dared to ruffle: the community of Jewellers. He imposed a cess on jewellery traders bringing their sales in the tax net. Didn’t Modi know that it will lead to outlash from the jewellers?
Wasn’t Modi aware of the implicit but strong outlash that he was to face from the Central government employees for introducing Biometric attendance? Those who were used to come at 11 am, play Golf in the lunch hours and leave by 3 pm, now had to stay for the entire duration of office!
Those who used to earn hundreds of crores by bribes in appointment of government class-3 and class-4 officers during interviews have now nowhere to go because interviews have been done away with and appointments are based on online results. Didn’t Modi know that he was taking on the strongest lobby of middlemen – those who act as brokers in the central govt recruiting?
Another biggest disruption has been DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The corruption in distribution of LPG, Kerosene, Scholarship, MNREGA wages, PDS etc by fake accounts due to subsidy leakage has been stopped to an extent that the government is saving 60,000 crore annually. Wasn’t Modi aware that this disruption will anger all the middlemen, traders and dealers engaged in this activity since decades?
Modi is very well aware of what he is doing! He doesn’t need to be on the backfoot. Winning elections must never be the sole aim of any leader who is determined to clean the country of its corruption.
Had he just wanted to win elections, there was no need for him to put in place so many disruptive policies, relentlessly one after one. He could have literally let go these black practices on and not touched this powerful lobby of middlemen and traders.
These decisions have NOT been taken for winning elections; they have been taken for the COUNTRY’S HEALTH in the LONG RUN!
Yes, GST being very new and the country being huge, there are some technical issues and timely reviews are needed, which the government has assured right since the beginning. But the overall outrage against GST in entirety is just a display of frustration from traders who now have to pay taxes.
If Modi fails in his fight against corruption and black money, no PM of India will have the courage to take this issue again on his agenda for next 100 years and corrupt politicians, beaurocrates, police, criminals and businessman will keep looting this country as their birth right.
So it is the duty of every responsible citizen to stand in support of PM Modi and frustrate the evil designs of corrupt politicians and their henchmen to incite violence and create anarchy.
If we fail to do our duty today, our children and grandchildren will never forgive us and will hold us responsible for not giving them a clean India.
English Education by the British: Robbed Indians of their Self-Esteem!
Sir Charles E. Trevelyan, K.C.B. was the brother-in-law of Macaulay. In 1853 he had submitted a paper to the British Parliamentary Committee on Indian territories. This paper was titled, “The political tendency of the different systems of education in use in India.” Reading this paper in independent India of 2018 impresses one on the farsightedness of the then British intellectuals. This document reads thus:
A nation which made so great a sacrifice to redeem a few hundred thousand Negroes from slavery,* would shudder at the idea of keeping a hundred millions of Indians in the bondage of ignorance, with all its frightful consequences, by means of a political system supported by the revenue taken from the Indians themselves. Whether we govern India ten or a thousand years, we will do our duty by it, we will look, not to the probable duration of our trust, but to the satisfactory discharge of it, so long as it shall please God to continue it to us.
Happily, however, we are not on this occasion called upon to make any effort of disinterested magnanimity. Interest and duty are never really separated in the affairs of nations, any more than they are in those of individuals; and in this case they are indissolubly united, as a very slight examination will suffice to show.
The Arabian or Mahomedan system is based on the exercise of power and the indulgence of passion. Pride, ambition, the love of rule, and of sensual enjoyment, are called in to the aid of religion. The earth is the inheritance of the Faithful; all besides are infidel usurpers, with whom no measures are to be kept, except what policy may require. Universal dominion belongs to the Mahomedans by Divine right. Their religion obliges them to establish their predominance by the sword; and those who refuse to conform are to be kept in a state of slavish subjection.
The Hindoo system, although less fierce and aggressive than the Mahomedan, is still more exclusive : all who are not Hindoos are impure outcasts, fit only for the most degraded employments; and, of course, utterly disqualified for the duties of Government, which are reserved for the military, under the guidance of the priestly caste.
Such is the political tendency of the Arabic and Sanskrit systems of learning. Happily for us, these principles exist in their full force only in books written in difficult languages, and in the minds of a few learned men; and they are very faintly reflected in the feelings and opinions of the body of the people.
But what will be thought of that plan of national education which would revive them and make them popular; would be perpetually reminding the Mahomedans that we are infidel usurpers of some of the fairest realms of the Faithful, and the Hindus, that we are unclean beasts, with whom it is a sin and a shame to have any friendly intercourse. Our bitterest enemies could not desire more than that we should propagate systems of learning which excite the strongest feelings of human nature against ourselves.
The spirit of English literature, on the other hand, cannot but be favourable to the English connection. Familiarly acquainted with us by means of our literature, the Indian youth almost cease to regard us as foreigners. They speak of our great men with the same enthusiasm as we do. Educated in the same way, interested in the same objects, engaged in the same pursuits with ourselves, they become more English than Hindus, just as the Roman provincials became more Romans than Gauls or Italians.
What is it that makes us what we are, except living and conversing with English people, and imbibing English thoughts and habits of mind? They do so too: they daily converse with the best and wisest Englishmen through the medium of their works; and form, perhaps, a higher idea of our nation than if their intercourse with it were of a more personal kind.
Admitted behind the scenes, they become acquainted with the principles which guide our proceedings; they see how sincerely we study the benefit of India in the measures of our administration; and from violent opponents, or sullen conformists, they are converted into zealous and intelligent co-operators with us. They learn to make a proper use of the freedom of discussion which exists under our government, by observing how we use it ourselves; and they cease to think of violent remedies, because they are convinced that there is no indisposition on our part to satisfy every real want of the country.
Dishonest and bad rulers alone derive any advantage from the ignorance of their subjects.
As long as we study the benefit of India in our measures, the confidence and affection of the people will increase in proportion to their knowledge of us. But this is not all. There is a principle in human nature which impels all mankind to aim at improving their condition; every individual has his plan of happiness; every community has its ideas of securing the national honour and prosperity. This powerful and universal principle, in some shape or other, is in a state of constant activity; and if it be not enlisted on our side, it must be arrayed against us.
As long as the natives are left to brood over their former independence, their sole specific for improving their condition is, the immediate and total expulsion of the English.
A native patriot of the old school has no notion of anything beyond this; (Note: an intellectual challenge to India of 2018!) his attention has never been called to any other mode of restoring the dignity and prosperity of his country.
It is only by the infusion of European ideas that a new direction can be given to the national views. The young men, brought up at our seminaries, turn with contempt from the barbarous despotism under which their ancestors groaned, to the prospect of improving their national institutions on the English model.
So far from having the idea of driving the English into the sea uppermost in their minds, they have no notion of any improvement but such as rivets their connection with the English, and makes them dependent on English protection and instruction.
The existing connection between two such distant countries as England and India, cannot, in the nature of things, be permanent; no effort of policy can prevent the natives from ultimately regaining their independence.
But there are two ways of arriving at this point. One of these is, through the medium of revolution; the other, through that of reform. In one, the forward movement is sudden and violent, in the other, it is gradual and peaceable. One must end in a complete alienation of mind and separation of interest between ourselves and the natives; the other in a permanent alliance, founded on mutual benefit and good will.
The only means at our disposal for preventing the one and securing the other class of results is, to set the natives on a process of European improvement, to which they are already sufficiently inclined.
They will then cease to desire and aim at independence on the old Indian footing. A sudden change will then be impossible; and a long continuance of our present connection with India will even be assured to us. The natives will not rise against us, because we shall stoop to raise them; there will be no reaction, because there will be no pressure; the national activity will be fully and harmlessly employed in acquiring and diffusing European knowledge, and naturalizing European institutions.
The educated classes, knowing that the elevation of their country on these principles can only be worked out under our protection, will naturally cling to us. They even now do so. There is no class of our subjects to whom we are so thoroughly necessary as those whose opinions have been cast in the English mould; they are spoiled for a purely native regime; they have everything to fear from the premature establishment of a native government; their education would mark them out for persecution.
This class is at present a small minority, but it is continually receiving accessions from the youth who are brought up at the different English seminaries. It will in time become the majority; and it will then be necessary to modify the political institutions to suit the increased intelligence of the people, and their capacity for self-government.
In following this course we should be trying no new experiment. The Romans at once civilized the nations of Europe, and attached them to their rule by Romanizing them; or, in other words, by educating them in the Roman literature and arts, and teaching them to emulate their conquerors instead of opposing them. Acquisitions made by superiority in war, were consolidated by superiority in the arts of peace; and the remembrance of the original violence was lost in that of the benefits which resulted from it. The provincials of Italy, Spain, Africa and Gaul, having no ambition except to imitate the Romans, and to share their privileges with them, remained to the last faithful subjects of the Empire; and the union was at last dissolved, not by internal revolt, but by the shock of external violence, which involved conquerors and conquered in one common overthrow.
The Indians will, I hope, soon stand in the same position towards us in which we once stood towards the Romans.
Tacitus informs us, that it was the policy of Julius Agricola to instruct the sons of the leading men among the Britons in the literature and science of Rome and to give them a taste for the refinements of Roman civilization. We all know how well this plan answered. From being obstinate enemies, the Britons soon became attached and confiding friends; and they made more strenuous efforts to retain the Romans, than their ancestors had done to resist their invasion.
It will be a shame to us if, with our greatly superior advantages, we also do not make our premature departure be dreaded as a calamity. It must not be said in after ages, that ‘the groans of the Britons were elicited by the breaking up of the Roman Empire; and the groans of the Indians by the continued existence of the British.
These views were not worked out by reflection, but were forced on me by actual observation and experience. I passed some years in parts of India, where owing to the comparative novelty of our rule and to the absence of any attempt to alter the current of native feeling, the national habits of thinking remained unchanged. There high and low, rich and poor, had only one idea of improving their political condition. The upper classes lived upon the prospect of regaining their former preeminence; and the lower, upon that of having the avenues to wealth and distinction reopened to them by the re-establishment of a native government. Even sensible and comparatively well-affected natives had no notion that there was any remedy for the existing depressed state of their nation except the sudden and absolute expulsion of the English.
After that, I resided for some years in Bengal, and there I found quite another set of ideas prevalent among the educated natives. Instead of thinking of cutting the throats of the English, they were aspiring to sit with them on the grand jury or on the bench of magistrates.
(*It was not from any motive of philanthropy that England redeemed a few hundred thousand Negroes from slavery. In a leading article on the “Armenian Problem,” the London Times of Tuesday, September 8, 18%, wrote: “Foreigners disbelieve in the existence of the philanthropic ideas and feelings amongst us; they naturally believe that when we allege them as a ground of international action we are using them as a cloak to cover ulterior ends. Quite recently one of the greatest of modern German historians ascribed England’s zeal against the slave trade at the Congress of Verona to her commercial jealousy. England, says Von Treitschke, had her own colonies well supplied with Negroes. She protested against the slave-trade because she desired to deprive her rivals of a similar advantage.”)

Missiles Attack on Syria Today – Let Us Face the Reality!
By: Shreepal Singh
“However, unfortunately, in many respects we are still not better than animals. We have not been able yet to utilize our reasoning-power to tame our animal instincts that put us on a collision path. Though our reason tells us that we share a common fate on Earth, our heart tells us that we cherish a common ideal, the truth, truth of everything; and we realize that our common goal is the Well-being of all. But still we are guided by our individual petty sentiments of nations, religions, languages, ethnicity, political ideologies and economic interests and are inimical to one another.
Remaining oblivious to our commonality of ideal, goal and fate, we pursue our petty selfish interests and mutually inimical agendas; we act in unjustified ways. We go ahead in these perilous pursuits doggedly and pretend otherwise hypocritically. Because of our unreasonable conduct we bring on Earth uncomfortable conditions and perilous circumstances for life. Because of these antagonistic stands, we have disputes – serious disputes – among us that can destroy us. With all this knowledge, how come we do not mend our ways?” (Quoted from the opening page of Indian People’s Congress)
On 14th April, 2018 Syria is attacked by the joint forces of the U. S., France and Britain by launch of missiles from outside of the Syrian territory or air space. The reason given by the assaulting countries is that Syrian leader Assad has used chemical weapons against its own dissident people and that many people, including children and women, have been killed and injured. It is flaunted by the leaders – in unison with each other – of the assaulting countries that they are the men of conscience, they cannot tolerate such crime (of using internationally prohibited chemical weapons) against innocent children and women – even by the leader of the affected children etc. – and they would go to any lengths to safeguard the human rights of such innocent people.
Wow! It sounds wonderful. It is really nice thing for the powerful people to help the weak innocent people in their hour of need. However, history is full of instances when the powerful people use the ostensibly laudable words to create an impression that they are really great people with high ideals loved by humanity, but the reality behind those lofty words is something else – where their intention and the net result of their acts is just opposite to their claimed aim!
Saddam Hussein was attacked (and removed from this world) by the powerful countries claiming that he had stockpiled chemical weapons. After the target is gone, it was found that he had no such chemical weapons! What was left thereafter? Nothing but international shame! But who cared for the shame or conscience or morality? At the cost (?) of such intangible a thing like morality or conscience, a great and material objective had been achieved: A Saddam Hussein with stubborn nature daring to oppose those powerful countries was gone! This was the morality and this was the net output of the action of the powerful. Shall we not say – in the hindsight – that it was a sinister intention couched in beautiful words?
It was an hypocrisy then. In the case of Syria now, is not an hypocrisy once again that is in the making?
Why an investigation under a neutral international watch is not made by the powerful countries, before they launched their missiles? What had stopped them from following this reasonable course – instead of flaunting noble words like children, women, innocent etc. as the shield to their unreasonable act of an assault?
Or, in this case too, is their target Assad of Syria and they merely take the service of such noble words to numb the international dislike for such belligerent acts of removing the head of another country? Nobody likes the ‘rouge intention’ wrapped in ‘noble words’!
A word of caution more!
This world is divided between rival camps of powerful countries. On the other side of this divide in this case, are Russia, China, Iran and, may be, more waiting for the opportune moment for them!
It means war! And, may be war with atomic weapons!! Who knows? Powerful countries are not powerful enough to stop the chain reaction of event; they have the power to set the ball in motion, but thereafter they would not be in control of this ball, since this ball would be in the other – rival – camp!
Are we – all humans – aware of the danger of opening of such a gate for the onrush of an atomic catastrophe?
How to Defeat Narendra Modi in 2019, the Cambridge Analytica Style!
By: Shreepal Singh
There are very high stakes in the incoming India’s 2019 Parliamentary elections. There are powerful – very powerful – people, who have been dethroned from their seat of power but who still have a large support base of privilege sharers intact and an enormous amount of money at their disposal. It is not one kind of people who have been dethroned by Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of India. There are a good number of rival gangs of such people. These do not agree together on anything but they all belong to only one class: the dethroned people. They share a common pain: ex-proprietors from their political estates and a bleak chance to regain their former status in future. So, they all are one in their common aim: Remove Modi!
But they all know that it is not possible for them to defeat Modi. But, as the proverb goes, nothing is impossible in the dictionary of the great warriors – as they consider of them ‘great warriors’ in their own rights after the fashion of the famous warrior Napoleon Bonaparte! In In India the ‘2019 elections’ are the Waterloo for, may be, either of the two sides. It is a matter of do or die for them; it is a matter of their political survival; it is a matter of the proverbial ‘meeting their Waterloo’ for the defeated one, whoever he or she happens to be that defeated one. Modi is crest riding today in India; and he is climbing new heights every day, and they make no mistake on this count. They know, a vast majority – crores in number – of Indian people love him, which is evident from the huge public gatherings wherever he goes. And, the dethroned lot know this fact more than anybody else. Before them all the question is: How to remove Modi?
It is the age of science. When you have a difficult problem, you go to the people who know the science. Science studies everything, identifies the problems and provides the solutions. There are experts on everything, including tilting human minds this way or that way and winning elections. It is their business; for them, it is more of a science than an art to win losing elections.
One such handy friend available to anybody for money is the Cambridge Analytica. They call it a company – a company to do things that should not be done! It is their business; and, they take their business seriously. They have collected data of billions of people – data of what these billions of people like or do not like. It is a peeping into the minds of these billions of souls. What I like or do not like, is my personal matter but to this company it is a commodity or product available for sale. But what is the use of this data – liking or disliking of people? It is a raw material and it does not have much value to the customers of the Cambridge m Analytica. Therefore, the company is wise enough to turn this raw material – process this raw data – into finished and usable tangible goods. They can get one – the detested one – elected in democratic elections, notwithstanding the disliking of the vast majority of electorate! How do they do it? It is their trade secret. They sell it. It is available for money.
In such capability, the dethroned lot of political leaders – the ex-propriators of their political estates – in India saw a glimmer of hope in the Waterloo of 2019. They contacted the vending section of the Cambridge Analytica, paid the demanded price and got the delivery of the product- the product in the form of a well calculated scientific strategy to be put into practice in India by these depressed political clients and win elections in 2019. Guaranteed win, is the assurance! After all, without assurance, nothing sells!
What is this strategy? How is it to be put into practice?
In one sentence the strategy is: changing the minds of billions of Indian people! One would wonder: is it ever possible? Wow! Analytica has made it possible. Let us educate ourselves, how it is proposed to be done.
India has 1.3 billion of people; out of this number, some are Children below voting age, men, women, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, tribal, South Indians, North Indians, (alleged) Aryans, (alleged) Dravida etc. You and me or even the government of India may not know their individual details but this Cambridge Analytica know it all with accurate precision. It is their business to know this. Business has no concern whether one is Hindu or one is Muslim etc. but this business has concern with their liking or disliking. The British Analytica is astute business entity and so it does not take sides with this or that group of people. But when it becomes their business to take sides, they do take sides. Out of this 1.3 billion Indians, they take out children below voting age, Muslims and Christians and what is left is a huge population of Hindus. It is as simple as that. It is this base that is the strength of Narendra Modi and because of which numerical strength he in invincible. Analytica knows it more than you and me.
But this huge population of Hindus can be divided into three categories: First, those who are committed voters for Modi; second, those who are committed anti-Modi voters; and, three, those who are by and large for Modi (and had made it possible for Modi to win thumping majority in Indian Parliament) but who are not committed voters for Modi. This category three Hindus may vote – and also may not vote – for Modi, depending on their perception of Modi as and when elections are held. The British Analytica has their data – individual particulars. The strategy recommended by this company to its political customer(s) is to change the perception of these Hindus about Modi. How this perception can be changed?
These billion of Hindus are nationalists but liberal; they like and love Modi; they do not like Modi to go to the extreme in serving the alleged cause of Hindus – e.g. temple, cow, religious excesses, firebrand Hinduism etc. Because they are liberal, they do not like Modi to take the extreme stand on such issues. If Analytica knows this fact, so does Narendra Modi too know it. Modi is liberal, works for the liberal agenda like development of India and takes extra care to project his image as a liberal Hindu political leader.
How to burst this armor – accumulated love of liberal Hindus – protecting Modi? Analytica provides the solution, off the shelf:
- Provoke some Hindus to become – or seen as have become – rabid and extremist Hindus; If Modi is forced to take action against such rabid extremist Hindus, divide Hindus and paint Modi as anti-Hindu; if he does not take action against them, create a feeling of alienation of this large chunk of liberal Hindus against Modi. But how to provoke Hindus?
- Who is a Hindu? On the social media, anybody can create an identity of a Hindu (or Muslim etc.). One who is a Hindu by name on the social media, is a Hindu for all the users of that media. The solution provided by the Analytica is very simple: Pay to those who are willing to pose on social media as Hindus, ready to post rabid Hindu extremist messages and abuse liberal Hindus as cowards or anti-national.
- The way is: spend the huge money (which is already accumulated by and in possession of those who ruled for long and have now been dethroned) to troll the social media – twitter, telegram, Facebook, websites, blogs etc. The social media concerning India must be swamped with such artificial rabid Hindu messages and exhortations.
- Utilize your money to hire services of mainstream electronic media, in addition to the social media, to attack Modi and his policies. Invite Hindus, who are willing for whatever reason to serve this anti-Modi agenda, to come on TV and make any debate there superficial, ludicrous and anti-Modi.
- A most dangerous plan – economic plan – to devastate the Indian economy: As the proverb goes, all is fair in love and war! If it is necessary to destroy the economy for coming to lost power, do it! No scruples! The guided roadmap suggested by this sinister – immoral – business entity is: Call all your strength of personnel to queue for withdrawing your own money from ATMs, in every city and town; and, on the strength of this seemingly genuine conduct, spread the word: ‘There is currency crunch in India’, The calculated prediction is: the next morning, the innocent ordinary citizens would be before the counters of their banks to withdraw their money, as thereafter nobody would be able to get any money from their banks! It is high treason, to say the least!
- This is the strategy and this is the work plan. But what is the way out? Any way out? Yes. Ask the cyber cell under the government of India to go behind every account on social media – the suspected account – to find out who is who.
- Make it a crime by passing an immediate ordinance to create a fake name or account and impose stiff penalty.
- Install CCTV cameras before banks; record who is spreading the rumor of currency crunch; declare such rumor a crime; identify and punish the criminal.
- Declare the British Analytica an illegal business entity; make any business contact with that company in India a crime; punish the criminal, including debarring from participating in democratic electoral process in India.
Rahul Gandhi Joins the ‘Breaking India’ Forces!
(1 of 2):
Rahul Gandhi has now openly identified himself with the ‘Breaking India’ forces. He leads these forces from within India. And, he leads these forces from the front. If there was any doubt left on this count, that is gone today.
On Monday 23rd of April, 2018, Rahul Gandhi while inaugurating his ‘Save Constitution’ campaign, said, “Prime Minister Modi has destroyed the image of India in the outside world. In the four years, India has suffered a serious setback to its image in the world. The talk in the world earlier used to be about the Indian Constitution and strong democracy in India, but now the talk in the world today is about the atrocities on women, violence against Dalits and assaults on minorities.”
So, according to Rahul Gandhi the world is talking about ’atrocities on women’, ‘violence against Dalits’, ‘assaults on minorities.’ But the reality is that the world is talking many things and Rahul Gandhi has picked up some of these talks, to launch his campaign. In selecting his preferred choice of the ‘subjects’ that the world is talking about India, Rahul Gandhi has shown his true colors!
There is not ‘one talk’ in India and there is not ‘one talk’ in the world; India is divided and world is divided between camps of conflicting views, interests and agendas; and, one has to take ‘this’ or ‘that’ side. It is one’s choice of taking a side in these conflicting versions of India – and world – that makes a man friend or foe of India. There are many neutral international agencies – and observers – that rate India as a rapidly rising power of significance in Asia and the world and that rate the Indian Prime Minister Modi as an emerging world leader. But let us leave that apart because Rahul Gandhi has no concern with the objective reality. He seems to be disconnected with not only the Indian people – the voters whom he is trying to woo – but also the realities of this world.
Rahul Gandhi has chosen to take a side against this rising India. Let us examine the merit of the side that he is now aligned with.
Let us see ‘who’ is talking in the world – within India and outside India – about atrocities on minorities, women and Dalits, and what is the merits of such atrocities claims.
There is a well-oiled industry producing this atrocity literature.
Find the samples of these atrocities being “committed” in India and being “talked” about in the world:

(2 of 2):
In his zeal to attack and destroy Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi chose a totally wrong spot. He started his address in his campaign to ‘Save Constitution’ from a quote in “Karam Yogi”, a booklet written by Modi. In this book in his efforts for a ‘Cleanliness Drive’ in India, Modi has linked the act of cleaning one’s own toilet to spiritualism. In a complaining tone, Rahul Gandhi said, “Now in cleaning toilets and making Pakora (pancakes) also, there looks spiritualism.” What a wrong spot! It can’t be worse than this selection.
Of late, Rahul Gandhi is sporting ‘Janau’ (Hindu sacred thread worn around one’s neck), putting a prominent ‘Tilak’ (Hindu sacred colored mark) on his forehead and missing no opportunity to prostrate before a deity in every temple in India, wherever he goes. Every ordinary Hindu in India (where still 80% are Hindus) loves a person – ignoring his faults and crimes whatever they be – and accords his respect. But there is one condition to such act of sporting ‘Janau’, ‘Tilak’ and ‘prostrating’ before a deity: The act should be genuine and not fake!
By making his aforesaid comment about linking ‘toilet cleaning’ and ‘Pakora making’ with spiritualism, Rahul Gandhi has betrayed his ignorance of Hinduism (where everything is linked to spiritualism) and inadvertently exposed his fake antics!
Is ‘cleaning toilet’ linked to spiritualism? Does Rahul Gandhi understand spiritualism? What is the relation of one’s acts to spiritualism – the path to Divine destination? Every ordinary Hindu knows it; but Rahul Gandhi does not know it!
Sri Aurobindo said, “All life is Yoga”. Does Rahul Gandhi know who is this man called Sri Aurobindo? No chance for him to know Sri Aurobindo, because he (Rahul Gandhi) was not born and brought up as a Hindu, who could have a chance to know what great Indian sages are saying about Hinduism; also, he is not a great intellectual searching for truth, and in his such pursuit reading books of great saints like Sri Aurobindo.
Gita teaches one to make one’s every act (big or small act) to offer to Divine as a path to one’s ultimate submersion in that Divine (attaining ‘Mukti’). Does Rahul Gandhi know it? Again, no chance!
Upanishad(s) teach, again and again, and in different manners that it is one’s acts and one’s attitude towards his acts that make him walk towards the ultimate TRUTH – the Divine! But does Rahul Gandi know it? No chance!
In fact, Rahul Gandhi has chosen a completely wrong spot to attack Narendra Modi. May be, because of the wrong advice of his advisers! But does he depend on his advisers on such a small knowledge of basics of Hindu way of life? Yes, for him, unfortunately!
“Saving” Independence of Judiciary and Constitution, the INC Style!
All matter except point No. 9 by Mohan Menon and point No. 9 by Shreepal Singh
The impeachment notice against the Chief Justice of India (CJI) was rejected by the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian Parliament. INC (Indian National Congress) presently headed by Rahul Gandhi knew that their impeachment motion against the CJI shall fail, because this motion was not supported by the ruling BJP having the necessary numerical strength in Parliament for carrying this motion and INC that moved this motion did not have the required numerical strength (including the 7 sundry political parties supporting INC). Then, why did INC move such a motion? It was just to blackmail the judges who dared not to succumb to the INC pressure in delivering judgments to their liking.
Who could have imagined that lawyer leaders of Congress who charge crores of rupees for a single appearance in courts would draft such rubbish for a notice of impeachment?
This clearly confirms a long held suspicion beyond any doubt now that they have been practising so successfully in the Supreme Court, not by virtue of their merit but only through their ability to ‘fix’ benches.
Kapil Sibbal, Prashant Bhushan, Indira Jai Singh etc. have had quite a reputation for this. The father of one of them was even caught a few years ago on tapped audio tape that talked of his son’s ability of fixing the Supreme Court judges for money. The tape had gone viral then. Time kills memory but habits do not die.
And, it is their inability to continue doing the same now that is exposing them today.
Let’s take a look at the Congress’s journey through the years. This shameful history of INC makes them so eminently qualified (!) to hold rallies in the name of ‘Saving’ the Constitution and the independence of judiciary that it becomes necessary to recapitulate the same here.
-
1973: Indira Gandhi appoints Justice A N Ray as CJI superceding three senior judges of the Supreme Court. Justices JM Shelat, KS Hegde and AN Grover resign in protest. Congress makes a statement in the parliament “It is the duty of the Govt to appoint as CJI one who is close to our philosophy and point of view” Today they talk of judicial independence!
-
1975: Justice Jagmohan Sinha was to deliver judgement in the Rajnarayan Vs Indira Gandhi electoral malpractice case. He gets a call “If you indict Indira Gandhi – tell your wife not to fast this Karva Chauth,” to which Justice Sinha calmly replied ” fortunately my wife expired just two months back”. And he went on to deliver the historic judgment that became a leading light for those seeking judicial independence and the harbinger of the biggest abrogation and insult to the constitution by the Congress, the declaration of Emergency, to his peril, of course!
-
1976: Justice A N Ray pays back partially for the favours done in appointing him as CJI in the case of Shivkant Shukla Vs ADM Jabalpur. The bench headed by him declared the abrogation of fundamental rights during Emergency as just and rightful by a majority decision. The only dissenting judge was Justice HR Khanna, who told his colleagues on the bench “Can you look yourself in the eye?” The bench comprised of Justices AN Ray, HR Khanna, MH Beg, YV Chandrachud, and PN Bhagwati. All except Justice HR Khanna became CJI in due course. Justice Khanna was punished for his dissent and was superceded. Justice MH Beg was appointed as the CJI!
-
Justice MH Beg, on retirement, was made a director of the NATIONAL HERALD, a news paper wholly owned by the Congress party, and regarding fraudulent acquisition of its property both the present and past president of the Congress party are out on bail from the court. So much for the ‘independence of judiciary’! This doesn’t end here.
-
In 1980 when Indira Gandhi came back to power Justice MH Beg was made Chairman of the minorities commission. A chair that he warmed till 1988 and was awarded by ‘Padma Vibhushan’ by Rajiv Gandhi for services rendered (to?).
-
1962: Even more intriguing is the case of Justice Bahrul Islam!! Mr Islam was a Congress MP of the Rajya Sabha in 1962. He tried his hand at popular politics and contested for Lok Sabha unsuccessfully on a Congress ticket. He was made a Rajya Sabha MP by congress in 1968. He resigned from the Rajya Sabha in 1972 to be appointed a judge of the Guwahati High Court!
-
He retired from there in 1980, perhaps honourably. But, after Indira Gandhi came back to power in 1980, Mr Bahrul Islam was again elevated to the Supreme Court! Nine months after his retirement from the Guwahati High Court!
-
Indira Gandhi desperately needed to control benches as there were a number of cases running in the Supreme Court regarding atrocities during Emergency. He proved very useful in saving the skins of Congress people. Justice Islam resigned about a month and a half before his superannuation from the Supreme Court and contested for Lok Sabha from Barpeta in Assam. As the elections could not be held, he was once again made Rajya Sabha MP by Congress. So much for the cause of judicial probity and independence and constitutional propriety that the Congress purports to be espousing today!
-
It would not be out of place here to give one more INC’s sample of “saving” the independence of Indian judiciary. This ‘sample’ relates to the time when a case against Indira Gandhi’s son – Sanjay Gandhi – of the criminal theft and destruction of a property owned by one Amrit Nahata – a film called “Kissa Kursi Ka”, figuratively “Every trick can be employed to cling to power” – was going on in the Indian Supreme Court. Sanjay Gandhi used to come along with a gang of boxers / kickmasters to Supreme Court and attend court proceedings of his case. One day, his gang of boxers came to the security officer who was guarding the entry gate of the court of the Chief Justice of India – Justice Y. V. Chandrachud – and kicked that security officer on his private parts. The officer fell down unconscious. CJI was informed, who ordered to take immediate medical care of the officer. The life of the officer was saved. In those days, there was no elaborate security frisking before going near the court room. As if this was not enough to scare away the CJI, the next day, one Youth Congress activist – if my memory does not fail me, Mr. Yashpal Sharma – telephoned the CJI Chandrachud warning him not to come to the court that day because his life was in danger. But the CJI came to the court. Sanjay Gandhi immaticulately dressed in white Kurta Payjama was sitting along with lawyers in the front row of the court room. The CJI questioned Sanjay why did he get it done (kicking and threatening on telephone). Sanjay flately denied the charge. The author herein was present in the court that day. CJI addressed Sanjay Gandhi thus: ‘You come from a respectable family. I know it is you who got it done. I can send you to jail just now. But I will not do so. I cannot low down myself to that standard. Mr. Sanjay, behave yourself because you come from a respectable family.’ Two or three days thereafter, this author had a chance to seek an apointment and meet the CJI Chandrachud for some work. During the exchange related to my problem, the CJI, referring to himself, said, “Look at me.” and then quoted Sakshpere “Cowards die many a times before their death; vallient dies but once.” This makes me proud of the CJI of my country then and of the CJI of my country today who had refused then and who has refused now to buckle under the pressure of political ‘Goonda-ism’ of Congress – Congress which is shamelessly flauting itself today the champion of the independence of judiciary and protector of Constitution. This makes me proud to be a citizen of a country where the judiciary does not buckle under the threat of blackmail of impeachment by those who fail to obtain desirable judgments. One more aspect of the browbeating the judiciary: Congress lawyers-cum-MPs are so arrogant and discourtious when they appear in the highest judicial forum of the country that, had they been ordinary lawyers, they would have been sent to jail multiple times! They find it safe to play this dirty game in the name of ‘fearless advocacy’ in court, while it is nothing but blackmailing the judiciary. These lawyers-cum-politicians have the cheeks to boast for ‘Saving’ the independence of judiciary and the Constitution!
-
The angst of Congress is palpable and if one could say so, understandable. The party which has been having a stranglehold over the judicial system is not able to ‘ fix’ benches today! What a comedown!! And, so utterly unacceptable!
-
The party which at one time saved the skin of Justice Ramaswamy during impeachment proceedings for corruption after 11 out of 14 charges were proved, by abstaining from voting, is trying to impeach the CJI today on puerile and frivolous charges.
-
They have a problem. That’s granted. It is difficult for them to come to terms with a situation where they don’t have the power to mould the decisions of the courts in their favour, or to assign the matters to benches where favourable decisions could be ensured.
-
The frustration is evident. It is overwhelming. Justice Deepak Mishra is succumbing neither to inducement nor to Blackmail! And this, when he was appointed as judge of the High Court and Supreme Court by the Congress!
-
The reason for this attempted suicide by INC is mostly this sense of deep frustrtation.
Friendship of India and China may bring ‘Golden Age’ for both!
Philology Debunks ‘Aryan Invasion’ of India!
Credit: 1 (and 2) of 3 by: Shreepal Singh. Credit: 3 of 3 by: E. Pococke – London, 1855
1 of 3:
Google has done a great service for the advance of knowledge by bringing rare, ancient and almost lost books to the public domain. One such book is ‘INDIA IN GREECE’ by E. Pococke published in 1855 from London. It is a masterpiece of philological research and knowledge.
It was a lost book. Thanks to Google, we can now utilize this treasure-trove to enhance our knowledge of the ancient world. It establishes beyond any shadow of doubt that it were a large numbers of Indians who under some unknown circumstances had migrated in prehistorical times from India to Greece speaking Sanscrit language; that they culturally colonized ancient Greece; shaped the classical Greek, and Latin languages; and thereby influenced the ancient dialects of other European languages!
In comparison to this philological research, which is based on the concrete reality of ‘words of languages that we still use in our daily life’, the recent reconstruction of the migration of ancient people on the basis of their DNA’s mutations etc. is nothing more than a speculation! The genetic sequencing of peoples’ DNA backward in time and their mutation over time, will show the mixing of the concerned two peoples but NOT THEIR MIGRATION ROUTE!
This alleged discovery of the MIGRATION of Aryans into India by applying the scientific tool of the genetic mutation has become a convenient political weapon in the hands of ‘Breaking India’ forces. They are crying hoarse to turn a ‘speculation’ into an ‘established fact’ and trying to divide India into ‘Aryan India’ as against ‘Dravidian India’!
Their alleged discovery is debunked by the philology – standing on the surer foundation of living languages. People speak languages and languages also mutate, preserving traces of their parent language. Nobody can deny that Sanskrit is an ancient language; that it is still spoken with all its purity in India; and that Greek, Latin and all other European languages still have traces of their mother ‘Sanskrit’ language in them.
A language is a living thing, like humans. It also undergoes mutation over a period of time, just like people’s genes!
The question crying for answer is: How did Sanskrit come to influence Greek, Latin and other European languages?
This question is answered by the philological research of E. Pococke. We are reproducing here Pococke’s ‘Introduction to the second edition‘ of his book, with special thanks to Google, at No. 3 of 3 of this write-up.

There is an observation of long standing time that says, “Fish are not aware of the water in which they live, until they are taken out of the water!” Often times, we do not pay attention to normal things, howsoever great the significance their presence might mean. It is so with the philological significance of the ‘quality’ of Sanskrit that is spoken in India as a commonplace thing. Everybody knows that ‘brother,’ a word of English language, is phonetically and in its meaning is similar to the Sanskrit word ‘bhratra” but nobody pays any attention to the fact that it is ‘brother’ that is similar to ‘bhratra’ and not ‘bhratra’ that is similar to ‘brother’! What is its significance in philology?
This fact debunks the artificial theory of the existence of the so called ‘proto Sanskrit’ language. If there was a ‘proto Sanskrit’ language, out of which have developed Sanskrit (as we know it) and also other languages of Indo- European family, then Indian Sanskrit cannot so develop as to become the precise language in its grammatical structure and sound in its phonetics and other languages of Indo-European family cannot remain so undeveloped in their grammar and phonetics, as they happen to be.
The much touted ‘proto Sanskrit’, if it was the mother of all the languages of Indo-European family, must have equally developed into all the languages of a common family.
The fact is that a language retains its maximum purity at the place of its origin and degrades as it radiates further away places from this place.
The quantum of purity of a language is maximum at its place of origin and decreases as it travels further away from there.
European languages have a few significant similarities to – but are not as pure as – Sanskrit, which is still spoken in India.
There was no ‘proto Sanskrit’ but an ancient Sanskrit. Its origin was ancient India. It spread with the migration of people speaking this language in ancient times from India to Iran, Greece, Rome, Scand and European countries.
The existence of finest form of Sanskrit in India – since antiquity – philologically proves that Sanskrit speaking Aryans – noble people – had spread out of India and not invaded India from somewhere outside. Of course, ancient India was much larger a place than today’s India and included almost all of Central Asia of today, faintly hinted at by Herodotus and classical Greek writers before and after Alexander.
3 of 3:
E. Pococke says:
An illustrious geographer has well observed that the names which geography, and particularly physical geography, has consecrated, may be considered the most important documents of primitive history, or of history anterior to chronology. Men, long before they thought of computing years, or arranging events according to their date, designated by local denominations, taken from the dialects in which they were surrounded – the mountains that bounded their horizon, the rivers in which their thirst quenched, the villages that gave them birth, and the family tribe to which they belonged. Had that graphical nomenclature been preserved pure and entire, a map of the world might have been obtained, more valuable by far than all the Universal Histories (Malte Brun, Geog. Univ.). It is impossible for the reflecting mind to concede the derivation of the Hellenic from the Sanscrit type of the Arian tounge, a subject now established beyond controversy, without, at the same time, granting the probable existence within the boundaries of the tribal and typical evidences of this fact. Such evidences are particularly strong in the case of mountainous regions. Those fortresses of nature formed so many points of jealous isolation. Here weaker tribes might hold their own against superior numbers. A congeries of rugged defiles, mountain passes, and craggy heights, became securely tenanted by bands almost as numerous and as diversified as the natural strongholds that received them. Hence, like the Caucasus, not a few of these highland strengths remain to this day the imperishable textbooks of the ethnologist and philologer. Here human speech, faithful as the most impartial historian, tells of the settlement of Fins, of Medes, of Celts, of Tartars, and Alans, demonstrating in the most precise and simple manner the infiltration of these races and its just amount.
But the higher we ascend the stream of time, the earlier do we discern the evidences of this fact. Nowhere is this more evident than in the most ancient ethnic titles of Greece.
It would undoubtedly be somewhat unreasonable to expect that a Greek logographer, however zealous for the antiquity of his country, should be able to interpret Sanscrit, Sclavonic, and Celtic terms, whilst acquainted only with his native language.
Let us for a moment examine the process of Greek geographical affiliation, and we shall find that a geographical son is generally the offspring of a Coelicolite, thus forming the boundary of Greek history, hence, –
Macedon is the son of Zeus,
Lacedaemon is the son of Zeus,
Targitaus is the son of Zeus,
Dardanus is the son of Zeus,
Scythes is the son of Zeus,
Corinthus is the son of Zeus,
Thrax is the son of Ares,
Boeotus is the son of Poseidon.
No sagacity is requisite to perceive that a terminology of this description is a virtual confession of inability to communicate the historical facts standing in connection with it; at the same time, this may be taken as a valid evidence that, however fictitious such tales may be, the names themselves are not fabulous, but belong to an era antecedent to the Ario-Hellenic settlement in Greece, and to a nation other than the purely Hellenic.
The Tamar, and the Thames, and Britain itself, are names undeniably English; but they are names which no Englishman – quoad Englishman – can interpret; they belong to an ancient race, and he is thus the inheritor of a title, not of an estate that he can enjoy. Just so was it with the Greek: before him came the Arian and the Celto-Arian, and then the pure Ario-Hellenic stock.
It will now be apparent that the ethnography of Greece lies within no narrow sphere. To the same purpose is the following:- “Let Greece, under the leadesrship of of Agamemnon, be as truly Hellenic as Kent and Essex were Anglo-Saxon in the reign of Alfred, what does it prove in the way of the occupants being aboriginal? As little as the English character of the countries in question at the time referred to. Four centuries, or even less, of migration, may easily have given us all the phenomena that occur; for the area is smaller than the kingdom of Wessex or Northumberland, and the country but little more impracticable. Hence, if we sufficiently recognize the smallness of the Hellenic area, no difficulties against the doctrine of an original non-Hellenic population will arise on the score of its magnitude. It was as easily convertible from non-Hellenic to Hellenic as Cumberland and Northumberland have been from British to English (Dr. Latham’s Ethnology of Europe, p. 129).”
We are then to view the Hellenic as that dialect of the great arian tounge, which formed the universal solvent by which, while tribal titles remained unchanged, all these various clans were marvelously blended into a people speaking one general language; yet each, as Boeotians, Athenians, Laconians, and Ionians, retaining those peculiarities of dialect which were once still more distinct.
History has not left us to doubt as to the wonderfully Hellenizing effect of the Greek language wherever it gained a footing. (“The facility,” writes Niebuhr, “with which the Pelasgian tribes were moulded into Greeks was a characteristic of their race, and a main cause of their dissolution and extinction. It is natural to look upon this as resulting from the original affinity between the two races, which, nevertheless, were essentially different; and so I believe it did. We may observe, however, that the Greek language and national character often exercised a magical power over foreign races that came in contact with them, even where there can have been no such affinity. The inhabitants of Asia Minor began to be Hellenized from the time of the Macedonian conquest, though very few genuine Greeks settled amongst them.” – Nieb. Vol. I. p. 56).
Nor, on the other hand, has Thucydides failed to notice that era of the early small communities of Greece, when not only provinces, but cities also, had a distinct name expressive of the resident tribe.
“Hekataeus, Herodotus, and Thucydides,” writes Grote, “all believed that there had been an ante-Hellenic period, when different languages, mutually unintelligible, were spoken between Mount Olympus and Cape Malea.” Many of these ancient races long continued ….. (a Greek word), as we are informed by Strabo. (vii. 327). Again, speaking of the modern highland population to the north-west of Greece, Malte Brun has acutely observed, that “to ascertain the Celticisms and Germanisms in the Albanian is by no means an unprofitable task; these cannot be attributed to accidental causes, for these words form a part of a numerous class in different languages. It is difficult to account for these facts from the migrations of different people; but they may be easily explained, if we admit that the ancient population of the Haemus was made up of Celtic, Sclavonic, and German tribes, as well as Pelasgian, Hellenic, and Asiatic. (Malte Brun, Univ. Geog. Vol. iv. P. 197)”
Isolation in special localities, protracted through a long series of ages, and acting upon the language of fragmentary sections of one and the same great family, has proved the powerful matrix out of which younger dialects were moulded; yet all are stamped with the truthful impress of the parent original. Hence, tribal and topical titles follow the regular system of lingual mutation from an older to a younger dialect.
The great connecting links of the Indo-Germanic family, with which Europe is now filled, have been ably portrayed by an excellent authority; and they bear so immediately upon the principles involved in the ethnic titles of antiquity, that they may be appropriately introduced in this place.
“Although,” observes the author, “we cannot trace the first colonization of Greece, which is beyond the period of historical records, the analysis of the Greek language and its comparison with the Sanscrit, of which we have seen that the Zend and the Parsi are derivatives, have afforded a proof of near affinity between the Pelasgic and Asiatic nations already described, which, to all those who have entered on the subject, has appeared fully conclusive.
It seems that colonies of one original people established themselves in remote times on the Ganges, in Persia, and on the shores of the AEgaean. In the former station, their speech was gradually moulded into the Sanscrit, and they became subject to the power and superstition of the Brahmins; in the second, they became the disciples of the Magian Hierarchy, and their dilects were the Zend, the Parsi, and the Pehlvi; in Greece, their mythology and language acquired a more graceful character; but the proofs of a common origin are still equally clear and indelible. (Dr. Prichard’s Nat. Hist. of Man, vol. ii. P. 31).
The following brief extract from the methodical work of the illustrious Bopp (Comparative Gram. of the Zend, Lithuanian, Greek, Latin, &c.) will form a powerful parallel to the Zendo-Arian nomenclature of early Greece, and will, at the same time, demonstrate the fact, that where great lingual principles harmoniously pervade human speech, they must be equally applicable to the tribal and topical titles of the speakers, wherever they may have resided.
Such records form a self-interpreting lexicon of ethnology, as cpious as it is faithful. The following is a brief table of numerals:-

It is impossible to contemplate such a marvelous accord of language – such a mirror-like reflex, as is here shown in the case of Sanscrit and the Hellenic – without granting an historical value to the personal agency of the parent tounge in early Greek.
AREA, whence the modern name of Iran, takes its name, as is well known, from the ARII, an ancient Median people. It is a name derived from the Sanscrit vocal “Arya”, “venerable,” hence descriptive of the “Noble Race,” – a term which has even penetrated the Celtic tounge under the form of “Aire” and “Aireach,” expressive of an ancient privileged nobility, as well as of the class possessed of wealth. Nor is the vocable less distinct in the German Ehre, Ehren.
This name included the whole of the Persian race, as well as those who spoke dialects of the Median. Among the towns of antiquity, closely connected with the fortunes of the old Pelasgic populations of Greece and Italy, is that of Tanagra.
An interpretation of this and similar local titles will give us a clear view of the ethnology of this mighty people, and will, at the same time, demonstrate their identity with the great Arian family. “Tanagra,” writes Leake, “was advantageously situated in the centre of a fertile champaign, consisting of plains and undulating ground, included between Mount Parnes and the Euboeic frith, and extending in the other direction from the Thebaea and Oropia. Standing at the eastern extremity of the ridge of Mount Soro, and not far from the root of Mount Parnes, which stretches to Dalium or Oropus, it was placed exactly in the point of communication between the plains at the foot of Parnes, and those towards Aulis and the sea.” (Leake’s Morea, ii. 455)
This appellation is, in itself, one of the most interesting accords of the early identity of the Eastern and Western Arians, of the Pelasgians, and their Indian congeners.
Ta-Nagara signifies literally “THE CITY,” and it is in every respect identical with the numerous districts and towns in India bearing the name of Nagari and Nagore. Of such a nature are Nagari in Bengal, Nagara in Carnatic, and the well-known Chander-Nagore, or “city of Chandra.”
The student of classical history will now perceive that he has ascended to a period so ancient in Greece, that the name of a Greek city has become lost to the Greek language, just as that of “Stow” or “Wick” in Saxon England had become obsolete in the English.
We learn from Strabo and Stephanus Byzantius, that, in distant ages, Tanagara bore the name of Poimandria or Poinandar. This is another designation of extreme interest to the student of primitive Hellenic history, and is in itself one of the most decisive evidences of the parent stem of the Hellenes. “Poimandria” is compounded of …. (some Greek word) and ….(another Greek word), the latter an enclosed space, a fold, or pen for cattle. “Poimandria,” therefore, signifies the “sheepfold.” But the Greek ….. (Greek word) itself is derived from the Sanscrit “Mandir,” a house, dwelling; from the root “mad,” to dwell, to inhabit, to surround, encompass; and hence are derived both “mandir” and ….. (Greek word); just as the Latin “vallum,” a rampart, is from the Sanscrit “val,” to enclose, surround – the true source of the French “ville.” But the interest of the inquisitive mind is yet more deeply excited on learning that “Ta-nagara” bore a name still more ancient than the title of “Poi-mander,” – it was that of “Graia.” It will now be seen that this latter is purely Arian.
“Griha” is a Sanscrit vocable, signifying a house or habitation in general; and “Grihya” is expressive of a village adjoining a city. Hence the form “Graihya,” or “Graia,” as simply descriptive of a village or small town, and thus not very dissimilar from that of “Ta-nagara.”
Nor is the intimate Celto-Arian position of the earliest colonies of Greece and of the coast of Asia Minor less distinct, and they are rendered obvious by such topical titles as Scheria or Phoeakia, Corax, Cragus, and Cassius. “Sceir” is a Celtic term, signifying a sharp sea-rock or cliff; and Scir-it is the well known rugged mountain region of Peloponnesus, whose cognate English vocable is a ”Scaur,” another form of which is the Greek “Scyr-os.” The Pheacians appear to us as a people half fabulous, half historical. Their wealth, luxury, and maritime enterprise – their marvelous possession, if not manufacture, of the most elegant works of art – naturally excite our wonder.
“Fixed thrones the walls through all their length adorned.
With mantles overspread of subtlest warp,
Transparent, work of many female hands,
On these the princes of Phaeacis sat,
Holding perpetual feasts; while golden youths
On all the sumptuous altars stood; their hands
With burning torches charged, which, night by night,
Shed radiance over all the festive throng.” (Cowper’s Odyss. Vi. 85-102.)
Of this ethnic the “Phikins,” Mons of southern Greece, is thoroughly exegetical: it simply implies the “PEAK,” in the same manner as we apply the term to the “PEAK” of Derbyshire; hence its name is precisely in accordance with fact. Leake observes, that Phikium “is a single bare and ragged PEAK,” thus unconsciously giving the exact value of the Greek form. The Celtic form is Feighe, (quasi …… and Phaeak is absolutely the aspirate variant of the English Peak, with which the Celtic “Peac,” any sharp-pointed thing, is identical: its application to the well known “Pic du Midi” is familiar to the reader.
“The Thraco-Pelasgi, the Heracleidae, and Achaei,” writes an esteemed ethnologist, (Col. Hamilton Smith’s Nat. Hist. of Man) “seem to have been Celto-Scythae, that is likewise of Illyrian or Gaeto-Finnic affinity belonging to the giant races; who, as far as the two first mentioned, came round from the Kuban and Don, along the shores of the Euxine, and then sought conquests towards the south, as all the more northern nations were impelled to undertake.”
Notwithstanding the immense swarms of the Celtic family that had passed onwards in their migratory course from the East, though Italy and Gallia into the British isles, a very considerable portion of these tribes, with a stronger Medic element than at present exists in the members of that race, remained in Thrace, Macedonia, Illyria and on the coasts of Asia Minor, and in a more Hellenized form in Epirus and Thessaly.
The more ancient topology of Greece demonstrates this Celto-Arian innervation in its earliest colonies. Thus we know that the primitive name of the isle of Salamis was Scheria, identical with that of the well known island off the Epeirotic coast. In addition to the thoroughly Celtic name of Cragus, (Carac, a rock, cliff; Caraig, a crag.) as the representative of the Craig, we place that of Sigaeum. (Sigh, a “hill,” a promontory.) When, further we read of the Alban fathers, we must not lose sight of the historical fact contained in the very name given by the colonists of Alba (Alb, a height, a mountain.) Longa.
Nor does the appellation of the classic Tyber fail to link the onward movement of this mighty emigration. The Celtic “Tobar,” ”Tibhir,” and “Tibra,” a fountain or spring: Tibbreadh, “flowing,” give certainty to these historical and ethnological deductions. “Tobar Seagss,” or the “Majestic River,” was an ancient name of the Boyne.
The true root, however, is found in the Sanscrit original under the forms of Tep and Tepri, to be wet, to sprinkle, to pour out, to flow. But further; the great poet of Rome has unconsciously preserved the fact of this Celto-Arian origin, in his allusion to the “Grinaeus” Apollo. As a Latin word, the attributive of the god possesses no signification; as a Celto-Arian term, it is highly descriptive. The god of day is, in Celtic, “Grian;” its Sanscrit original is “Ghrini,” the sun, from “Ghran,” to shine.
Here, then, we have a highly expressive term lost to the classic languages of Greece and Rome, and preserved in the Celtic and Sanscrit.
Nor do the most important oreological titles of Italy fail to corroborate these facts. Such names as Alpes, Pen-innus, A-penn-inus, Cim-inus, together with the established fact of the very early separation of the Celtic stock from the great Arian family, powerfully demonstrate the nature of perhaps the earliest population that reached the Italian peninsula. (Such is the Celtic emigrant track seen in the term “Alpes.” Celt. Alp, a hill; the Peninus, from Pen, a hill, and in, a country. “A,” the old Celtic article, corresponding to the Greek ‘..” or Doric ‘..’. so again, Ceim-inus Mons, or the ‘hill country,” from Ceim, a top, summit, and in, a country. Conf. French “Cime.”)
Pictet has acutely remarked, on a subject in which history is involved in philology, as follows:-
“A subject of research still more attractive is the state of civilization which the present stock of all the European race had attained. I do not hesitate to affirm that the Celtic languages will present numerous and important elements for the solution of this problem. A very interesting example, which may furnish an approximation indicative of the geographical position of the cradle of the human race, is found in the Irish tolg, a bed, tyle, couch, identical with the Greek …, mattress, cushion.
“All these words have a direct affinity with the Sanscrit tulikha, mattress, bed. Now this substantive is a derivative of the Persian “tula,” one of the Sanscrit names of cotton. These mattresses, then, were made of cotton, in the country (indeterminate let it be) which was the cradle of the race. The result is, that this country must have been situated within, or at least very near the limits of the growth of cotton; for a material of which mattresses were made must have been abundant and of very trifling cost. Now the cultivation of cotton does not go beyond Persia; this would seem, then, to indicate that the cradle of the family was more southerly than is generally supposed.” (Pictet, Jour. Asiatique, 1836).
To this term we would add that of the significant Celtic vocable Bed, signifying “a book;” the origin of which is distinctly seen in the Sanscrit “Ved,” or locally, “Bed.” What a spectacle does this present of the juxtaposition of the Celts with the Arians of the East. The Tans-Scindic regions, in truth, were no strangers to the Celtic family of mankind, to their altars and their tombs, their priests and their warriors. The following is from a competent eye-witness:-
“Near a village lying about three miles eastward of Kotagherry, at the extremity of a field, beyond the village, and overlooking a ravine, rises an artificial terrace, twenty-one paces in length by ten in breadth, supported by slabs and masses of stone.
“Along the western side of this platform, I found a row of those remarkable relics of antiquity, belonging essentially to the Druidical region, called Cromlechs.
“There are twelve still standing, – ten on the side of the terrace, and two in the centre of it. The ruins of several others are apparent. Most of the entire ones consist of three upright slabs planted firmly in the earth, and supporting a fourth, which is passed horizontally on the top of them. Four of the Cromlechs are larger than the rest, being about four feet square and five high, the length of the upper slab measuring seven feet. Inquiring of the people what they knew respecting these remarkable structures, I was told, with much gravity, that they had been constructed by a race of men, not a foot high, who existed before mankind were destroyed by a flood which overwhelmed the earth. An account remarkable as manifesting the universal belief in fairies; and important as exhibiting a tradition of the deluge among the lower orders of the Hindoo peasantry, who cannot have access to the Brahminical accounts of the cataclysm.
“It is very remarkable that not only are the Cromlechs of the Neilgherries facsimiles of those in Europe, but that the same legend is attached to both.
“The one perhaps best known is called Kits Cotty House, near Aylesford in Kent, and consists of three flat stones containing a fourth. A drawing of this Cromlech in my possession is an exact representation of the one of the most conspicuous at Alcheny on the Neilgherries.” (Capt. H. Congreve, Madras Journal, 1847.)
The singular and very interesting connection once subsisting between the pure Arian and the Celto-Arian races has been thus stated by the learned Pictet, in a profound and critical treatise which has stamped his authority with the highest authority:-
“I here terminate,” he thus writes, “this parallel of the Celtic idioms with the Sanscrit, I do not believe that after this marked series of analogies, a series which embraces the entire organization of their tongues, that their radical affinity can be contested.
“The Celtic languages belong, then, to the Indo-European family, of which they form the extreme western link.
“The Celtic race established in Europe from the most ancient times must have been the first to arrive there, and, in all probability, it separated from the common stock before the rest.
“The decisive analogies which these languages still present to the Sanscrit carry us back to the most ancient period to which we can attain by comparative philology, and thus become one of the most important bases to investigate what degree of development the mother language of the whole family has attained.” (Letters M. Humboldt. Jour. Asiatique, 1836, p. 455).
Hence it is not a little singular, that although the most brilliant philological discoveries of our day have distinctly proved the affiliated descent of the Hellenic, Sclavonian, Celtic, German and Gothic dialects from the Sanscrit type of speech; – the speakers of these dialects have been overlooked as the ancient brethren of the Greeks, who themselves, as before noticed, spoke a branch of this mighty and wide-spread language.

How Could Someone in 2009 Predict So Accurately about the Rise of Modi and India?
First Published : 05 Apr 2009 12:43:00 AM IST. Last Updated : 05 Apr 2009 08:36:50 AM IST.
“Politicus Bharatus Janatus Indicus veni grandus est para Indus cognisant Indica tum est… ” The BJP will represent the aspirations of the Hindus, the overwhelming majority of India.
He goes on to explain who are the Hindus: “Indus terrum nostrum grandus homo manus onum unus familium planetum est. Indicus pax pacis terra est ferrum tempus…” They will be the most tolerant people, even in the Age of Iron, because they will still accept that God may manifest Himself at different times under different names, using different scriptures. Hence all persecuted people throughout the ages, will always found refuge in India, where they will practice their religion in peace.
Then Nostradamus makes his first prediction: “Indus cursum est trahisum nostrum est… Politicum Bharatus Indicus trahisum est…” But the curse of the Hindus will always be disunity and they will betray each other to the enemy again and again. One day, some of the highest bearers of the BJP party will not even say hello to each other.
Next, another prophecy: “Politicus Bharatus Janatus Indicus tri pillarus est, Vajpayum, Advanum et Murlum Joshum Kashmirum drapus levus. Vajpayum maladum est…” The BJP will have three pillars: AB Vajpayee, LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. As eventually, Vajpayee will no longer have an active life, Advani will become the leader. MM Joshi, who hoisted the Indian flag in Srinagar, will be his number two.
He goes on: Narendrum Modum supremus chefum, ironus manus est et economicum grandum est…” Narendra Modi in between will raise himself as a national figure, not only because he is an iron man, but also because he has made of his state a model of economic efficiency.
Then comes another forecast, which Nostradamus may have got wrong: “Duo millenum novo, Jesus Christum postum, Advanum racontum narrates est Joshum grandus princeps est et Modum dux ducis rector est, sixtum legatus est…” In 2009 AD, Advani will announce that if his party is elected, MM Joshi will be made External Affairs Minister and Narendra Modi, Home Minister. Then the party will gain an extra 50 seats.
Nostradamus is not done. It goes on: “Politicus Bharatus Janatus Indicus prnonuncio Ramum templum et Christanium consto est et gurum defendo est, kashmirum macto est…” The BJP will also make it known that it will build the Ram Mandir, protect temples, stop conversions and keep Kashmir for India.
Michel has also some forecast about foreign policy: Chinum pugna est, Tibetum sanctum est, proctectiorum, amen ; pakistanus attakum est et ereptor latrunculus iugolo, caido.
The BJP will reaffirm its commitment to eastern states (he probably meant Arunachal Pradesh), stand-up to China’s bullying, and support Tibet to counteract Beijing which is propping-up Maoist Nepal. It will swiftly punish Pakistan next time it attacks India by proxy.
However, added Senor Nostradamus: “Politicus Bharatus Janatus Indicus comes, comitus amicus desertus est congressus victis .” The allies of the BJP will be deserting the boat as they think (the Congress) will win. But if the BJP stands true to the aspirations of its Hindu voters, it can come on its own at the Center.
Why? “Independantum Blancum copium est; necessarus changum indianus cumum facus est”… As India has heavily borrowed from the White Man (British?) at Independence, it will become necessary to “Indianise” the nation so that it may manifest again its true unique soul.
What is it? “Lex legis mutation, presidentum auctorita dato est, confuto desisto lex legis…” Introduce a common civil code, repeal false laws (article 370?), reform the Judiciary, change to a Parliamentary system, which will give true powers to the President who can nominate a Prime Minister from the majority.
Nostradamus goes on to explain why these changes are important: “Congressus niveus domina regnus, Indicus forcus inmicus est. Maurus, Christianus presentum est.” Under the reign of the White lady (Sonia Gandhi?) forces inimical to India have crept in. Madrasas have sprung up everywhere and so have churches that are converting by the thousands, Hindus gurus are jailed and mocked at… As for the foreign diplomatic corps, Nostradamus has this prediction: “Fransiscus ambassadorus, Jeromus Bonnafus, negatum Indus massacrum Sabartinum et supportus Maurus genocidus et accusum Politicum Bharatus Indicus ”.
French ambassador Jerome Bonnafont will deny the burning of the Hindus in the Sabarmati Express and accuse the BJP of being fascists.
Finally, Nostradamus’ ultimate prophecy: “Aurobindus Ghosus Matre Indica realisum est, Indianum Agus ancientus mortum non est…” Under the BJP’s leadership, Indians will worship again their country as Mother India and Sri Aurobindo’s words will echo: “India of the ages is not dead nor has She spoken Her last creative word. And that which She must seek now to awake, is not an anglicized oriental people, doomed to repeat the cycle of the Occident’s success and failure, but still the ancient immemorial Shakti recovering Her deepest self ”.

How Nehru Helped Convert NE to Christianity!
By: K. I. P.
The spread of Christianity in the North East States of India between the years 1901 and 2001 has seen a sea change. It is a phenomenal growth from almost nil to almost 100% in 2001. In 1901, there was almost nil presence of Christianity in these States and in 2001, they are nearing 100% of the population. First have a look at the religious demographic data of these States in an ‘Illustrated Presentation on Religious Demographics in India by A P Joshi, M D Srinivas, and J K Bajaj’ –
Imperialism invades and occupies other countries not merely by military and political means. It is a mentality of the power of a people that persuades it to invade and occupy other people’s lands. Imperialism adapts itself to suit the changed circumstances and utilizes all means at its disposal, including religion, culture, language etc., to secure its imperial ends. When it is no longer possible for it to attack and occupy other countries with military power, imperialism adapts itself, changes it color and invades from within – within in the form of dubious religious conversion of other people. This technique makes that foreign land a soft ground – a pulp ground – ready to welcome those outsiders, allowing them to do what they could not have done with the assistance of their military.
Today, see the situation of these Indian States of North East! There the Christian Church leaders are openly exhorting their followers to get united to defeat Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, in the ensuing electoral battles. In a liberal democracy, like India, is it a religious work of such leaders or a sabotage of democracy from within? It is precisely for this reason that countries like China keep a strict vigil and check over the unwanted Christian religious propagation activities.
But, first let us see how this sea change has been made in India between 1901 and 2001 and who is primarily responsible for the same.
The Christian memetic virus entered the Northeastern states of India in 1871. However, the progress was slow. In 1931, the Christian population in the NE states, barring Mizoram, was around 15%. In Mizoram, it was 47% – although it appears that the Mizo were only namesake Christians or there was a reporting error because the 1941 census didn’t find any Christians there. There could’ve been a sort of ghar wapsi as well.
In Nagaland, the freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu strove to revive the traditional animist religion. I am unaware of any such concerted effort in Mizoram. However, the British (and hence American) stranglehold in NE was weakening during WW2. So, the missionary parasites, lacking imperial backing, left the region. So, the local Mizos might’ve abandoned Christianity.
In any case, the decline of Christianity in NE between 1931 and 1941 is well recorded. There were hardly any Christians in Nagaland, Mizoram, or Meghalaya whereas Manipur had a 5% Christian population in 1941.
However, in the very next decade, Christianity spread like the plague in these states. Mizoram had become 90% Christian whereas Nagaland had become 46% Christian. The reason for this spread is two-fold.
First, it was primarily American Southern Baptist variety which spread in these regions. It is closest to the original form of Christianity and is a nasty memetic virus. It is the same variety which is spreading in Tamilnadu and Andhra these days. In my forthcoming speech on May 12, I will explain why this virus is cancer-like in its metastasizing capability and hence cannot be ignored as anything but an existential threat.
Second, Nehru facilitated the rapid evangelization of NE. In 1942, Reginald Coupland had accompanied Cripps to India. He strove to ensure that the missionary agenda in the NE states continued uninterrupted. Nehru acquiesced.
So, in the subsequent years, when the constitution was written, tribal rights in these states were made nonexistent and the missionaries were given a free hand. Missionaries advised Nehru and he followed their diktats. Durga Das writes about this in India: From Curzon to Nehru & after see especially p. 274. That was the period when Christianity virtually decimated Hinduism and tribal religions in NE.
Nehru was not merely a white man’s asslicker but he was a self-loathing scumbag. He hated everything Indian and Hindu. He once wrote his father that he wanted to move from Cambridge to Oxford because there were too many Indians in Cambridge. He was the one responsible for the rapid Christianization of the Seven Sisters.
Reviving Hinduism and confronting Christianity would necessitate recognizing Nehru as the vanguard of the Christian memetic virus. Nehru must be criticized for what he had actively helped to achieve.
However, it is a simple fact that virtually all leaders including Sardar Patel, Rajaji, Rajendra Prasad, and Ambedkar turned a blind eye towards Nehru’s schemes in the proselytization of NE. This is why I find it extremely hard to respect any of them without reservation. The only man who stood like a lion was S. P. Mukherjee. His influence was limited to Bengal though.
Of course, there is hope. The waning of Christianity between 1931 and 1941 gives us precious insights into how we could accomplish the same results now.
