Modiji has committed a grave mistake. The strength of Modiji, his party BJP and his mentor organization RSS did not lie in the agenda of India’s development – even development of all, sabka sath and sabka vikas. His strength lay in protection of Hindus against primarily Islam’s religious mandate of converting or killing Hindu Kaffirs.
Agenda of economic development is alien to the RSS’s core concerns since the days of Golwalkar. It was better for Modiji to leave this agenda to the coming generations of the Hindu democracy and to first pay exclusive attention to the safety and security of Hindus in India. This Hindu democracy was to be a Hindu nation which it was fully and finally secured against that mortal danger of Islamic Jihad. The only way to achieve this objective was by firmly putting a brake to the fast changing religious demography of this country and thereby turning this nation into a democracy completely dominated by Hindus.
Economic development and the model of this development that should be followed by India is a controversial subject among the different startas of Hindu India. This work needs to be attempted by any leader with the greatest care and caution to avoid any possible Hindu disunity because of the sensitivity of this issue. Hindu unity is of the greatest value for this country today. Any sacrifice to achieve and maintain this unity is too small for the future safety of Hindus. The only strength and the only hope available to Hindus to save themselves from their catestrophic end at the hands of Islamic Jihad is their unity. There are many and differing opinions among Hindus about an appropriate model of economic development that needs to be adopted by India and the Hindu unity cannot be sacrificed at the stake of this current model of economic progress. There are many models available in the world for making economic progress in a country and making its people happy. This controversial issue was better to be left for now to avoid any chance of Hindu disunity. It was far better that this voletile issue was resolved at some later stage by the democratic dialogue and in an internally secured Hindu India.
India is universally recognized a spiritual giant and this Hindu India was expected to contribute something new and better to all these available models. India is least expected to copy a western model of economic progress that is now well proven to create discontent, unhappiness and degeneration in the human society. There is plenty of literature in India authored by towering spiritual personalities like Vivekananda, Gandhi, Sri Aurobindo et al that categorically state that India should not follow the western path. At some future date a spiritually awakened and strong Hindu India could have been trusted by our present leadership to solve this problem of economic progress of India in a truly democratic way.
Modiji has committed a grave mistake by raking up an issue at an improper time. The most urgent issue at this time facing Hindus of India is to stop the process of fast reducing them from a majority to minority community. The most important work for the present government was to safeguard Hindus from the fate of their sure annihilation at the hands of approaching steps of Islamic rule in India. No alert Hindu can mistake the sound of these approaching steps of Muslim rule in India in the surge of their numerical superiority. In fact, it was the only work to be done by this government, for which it had got the overwhelming public support and the mandate to rule in 2019 election. In fact, the only work to be done by this government was to effectively put a full stop to the fast widening numerical gap between Hindus and Muslims in India.
Modiji had got people’s mandate in 2014 to rule India on the basis of this core concern of Hindus. Let there be no doubt that the real motivating force for majority of Hindus in voting for Modiji in 2014 was this core concern and not as much the capacity of Modiji to crush the Congress corruption or people’s aversion to that party because of that corruption. After 2014 win, Modiji brought in this new element (of his fight against corruption) into his popular appeal but still his appeal lay in his ability to address that core concern of their safety against Islamic Jihad. And in 2019 he won again on this very appeal’s strength and not on the strength of his image as a clean politician or capable of doing development. The Pulwama or the Balakot episodes and the people’s appreciation all had to do with this very safety-concern of Hindus – and not as much with his promise to do development of all – sabka sath, sabka vikas.
India is a tinder box of inflamable mix of religious identities. Every alert Hindu in India is well aware that any development is meaningless because in any case, whether with this economic development or without it, he is going to be converted or killed by Islamists in the near future for the reason of his Hindu identity. He is aware of this danger. He is pained that nothing has been done on this front – his sole concern – by Modiji.
Some may be unhappy with what Modiji is doing (his kind of economic development in India, that is, corporatization or privatization) but overwheming number of Hindus are unhappy with what he has not done or is not doing. The most vital things that was expected to be done by Modiji after his 2019 win was of the putting in place an effective law to control the fast uneven population growth and enact the Uniform Civil Code in India. Modiji was given a full political power and a chance by Hindu India by his win of 2019 to single mindedly devote himself to accomplish these objectives. He has committed a grave mistake by diverting his mind to something else. He has put his whole might and attention to a controversial model of development, which is an error of priorities. Most likely, he will not get another chance to correct his mistake. And, it means Hindus are not likely to get another chance to take steps to safeguard their future.
It is already too late in this matter and the damage has already been caused. It is not easy now for Modiji to divert attention from his current pre-occupation and to focuss on this Hindu core concern.
